I had a dead zone in my house that caused havoc when not upstairs. By using this device the signal was boosted to cover the entire lower half of my house.

My laptop lost its ability to find the Wi-Fi signal wirelessly so I bought this and plugged it in the wall and it has a ethernet cable receptacle and it I plug it right into my laptop and it works perfect

Works perfectly. I have had internet connection both with an ethernet cord to my desktop and wireless to my laptop, cellphone and tablet without any trouble. Moreover, the range is high. I haven't noticed any change on the internet speed but I mainly got it to be able to connect my desktop computer in my room to the internet without using a large internet wire from the router in the living room.

We felt our router wasn't quite getting the signal to our upstairs room. We've had this in use for over 6 months now, and it has seemed to help by strengthening the signal to the upstairs room, specifically for streaming live TV and YouTube videos.

There was almost immediate difference in WiFi connectivity in a dead area in my basement. This product was very easy to connect and install. The indicator LED on the front of the device informs you of key areas for placement. Highly recommended.

This item did not work for the purpose I needed it. I purchased it so that my Ring door bell system’s video would work when my front door was closed but it did not extend my WiFi beyond the closed door. I do not recommend the purchase of it for the Ring door bell system. I gave it three stars because it was easy and simple to set up in general.

I had a little trouble getting it to join my home network. Once I moved the router and the range extender very close to each other, they linked. Was then able to move it to a spot that worked perfectly with the rest of my condo. I'm very pleased with it so far.

I needed at least a 25Mbps wireless connection accessible from our screened in porch, and this does the trick connecting to our wireless router about 25 feet away downstairs. Installation is pretty easy, and I have not had to turn it off/on yet. I made sure to not auto connect to this device when I am in the house to prevent being locked into the slower speeds, and I do not mind manually connecting when I need to.

If you are a cox subscriber, you are going to need an extender unless you have a one story 100 sq foot house. I am not saying it is Cox's fault, but the reality of wireless internet is that it just is unsteady on second floors that are on the opposite side of where the extender is if on the bottom floor. Otherwise, the cox connection is good and fast. Cox sells its own extenders. I think they are between $100-$200. This one is $19.00. It is not flawless, but it works and it does grant internet access where we would not get it in the house without it. So, I recommend it.

WiFi in far bedroom of the house was really weak. This little device was placed in the middle of the first floor, as a result reception in the bedroom has improved dramatically. Watching TV via the Amazon FireStick is no longer a problem. Definitely recommend.

If you are looking for a cheap, reliable range extender and are not a heavy bandwidth user, the TL-WA850RE is for you. Like all of TP-Link's range extenders, the TL-WA850RE is a cinch to configure. Using WPS, it is as simple as pressing a button the router and then pressing the button on the range extender. If WPS is not an option, you can use TP-Link's Tether app for iOS and Android from any mobile device. Out of the box the unit has a nice look to it which blends well with my outlets. I like that TP-Link designed this extender to make sure it doesn't block the second outlet. The LED lights are subtle yet convey everything you need to know including signal strength. This range extender is not dual band, but simply 2.4GHz. What that means is that you will get better range with 2.4GHz than with 5GHz but the speeds are not as high as those offered in the 5GHz band. The TL-WA850RE also has an Ethernet port to allow it to act as a bridge for wired devices. In my usage, I had a consistent signal with adequate speeds one floor up on the opposite side of my house. The extender has been stable, never losing a signal or needing to be rebooted. If this is your price point and speed range, look no further. Otherwise, for a little more money, TP-Link offers dual band range extenders which may be worth the upgrade cost. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

I brought one to extend my home wi-fi from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. The device is very easy to installed and setup. We can easily find the _EXT from computer with displayed stronger signal. However, in realty, there was no obvious different to improve the connection stability. Maybe I'll have to buy a more powerful wi-fi router.
