This is a pretty good extender, have tried other extender and this one is pretty straight forward to use, plug setup and move to ideal location. The LAN connection is fair but the wi-fi is pretty reliable doesn't drop or lose connection. Change IP address on my modem and reconfiguring wasn't bad as long as you follow the instructions or hit the reset button to restart over.

Had considered a range extender for a while since we had a significant dead zone on our porch but was dissuaded by reviews citing the complexity of the install process (and the cost!). Found this unit and was impressed by the reviews (and the price!). Reviews were right on. Install took about two minutes with the WPS setting on the back of my router. Took a bit longer to locate the optimum placement in the house but once determined, tablets and smart phones performed like they were hard wired. Very pleased especially at the very modest cost. You won't be disappointed.

Very easy to install. Main thing is to make sure you are familiar with your router and that the WPS on your router is not defaulted to off. I Googled my router model and "WPS setup" and got easy to follow instructions on how to set my router WPS to "on" position by logging into the router from my computer browser. Otherwise pressing the WPS button doesn't work. Try a couple different locations for the TP-Link to get best effect.

I have been using a Netgear WN1000 wi-fi extender, that I got about 4 years ago. It works ok, but is quite limited. Recently, I upgraded my FIOS router to a Quantum Gateway. The Netgear extender will not connect. So, started looking for a replacement. After many reviews from various sources, I pickup the TPTL-WA850R. Wow. It works great. Huge improvement. Easy set up.Great range.

Super easy to setup, and crazy inexpensive. Even a medium sized house will benefit from this.

I was pretty skeptical of the effectiveness of the device due to the low price compared to similar devices.There's a really easy connection option. Just plug it in and press a button on your router and presto, its done. I didn't have to play around with the settings on my router, I have a secure network and so far its working really good

Im not really sure if theres a problem with my router or my connection. I tried this for a week, but returned it after. My speed was cut into half when i use it since i have slow connection in my room. Maybe this would be better if you have really fast internet. Its easy to set up. I dont really need this. I changed my router's configuration to 5ghz instead.

I live in a 9 story cement building.The TP link is 2 stories away from the router and the laptop is getting a great signal up there.I was shocked.

This is a great extender, I am able to get signal in places I thought I wouldn't be able to get with just my regular router. I now have access in my front and backyard. The extender also provides amazing download and upload speeds without any issues. I also like the shiny look to the device. Pairing it to my current WiFi was also super easy and was up and running in 5 minutes. Submitted as part of a free sample program

Worked like a charm to extend/repeat my ATT router signal from upstairs. Immediately fixed my slow, weak and intermittent connection to my new smart tv, phones and computers downstairs. Checked speed test again and now at max download speed for my plan. Best money I ever spent. May get some of rest of house/outside. Great price too.

I bought this extender so I could use my laptop in the family room at the back of my house. The router is in the front room of the house. It was an easy set up and it does work, but not as well as I had anticipated. Watching video is the most frustrating part; lots of buffering and freezing up. The comparison is this: if I reconnect to my router wifi and then walk into the room where the router is, I have a much better connection than when I am using this extender. I guess you get what you pay for. I'll look for something else.

I purchased this repeater so that I could connect a weather data logger to it via a lan cable and wirelessly upload the information via my home WiFi. This way the data logging console can be wherever I would like it to be in my home. The repeater is simple and straight forward to set up and the tech support is great should you have a question. The unit has proven to be very reliable. This is a fine no frills repeater that does the job well.

Plug & Play! Very easy to connect to router. Love my BestBuy brick and mortar shopping experience but the in store/inventory selection is lacking compared to the many online retailers that can ship to my house within 24-hours.

The quick installation guide is written well, however, for option two (non- WPS), it took me quite a few hours of trial and error to finally configure. I had to set the TP-LINK as a fixed IP address in my Link Sys router. I.e. map the TP-LINK's MAC address to a fixed IP address in the router. Until I did that, I was getting constant unable to obtain IP address. I also set it up as a 2nd SSID so I could connect to separately from my router to compare speeds at various places in the house. In every corner of the house, the LinkSys router was quicker on speed tests. Which means my router is sufficiently capable of reaching all areas of the house and still strong enough signal that the single band TP-LINK loses in a speed test comparison. Since this is a single band repeater, it generally means the throughput will be 1/2 the speed of a dual band connection. However, in places where there's zero connectivity, single band beats no connectivity. I'll probably return it and get a dual band repeater.

Does exactly what it says. Really great value for the price.

Purchased this unit in August just stopped working. I tried resetting it and then tried to reconfigure it. It will not do either. I know it is not that expensive but it did not last long. One other thing is it is not easy to set up as mine required the Ethernet connection on original setup and again to try and reconfigure. I would not recommend this unit.

Plugged it in and pressed 2 buttons. No configuration. Went from 3 bars to 5 instantly, 22mbps to 72. Saved me $100s. Not stocked in the BB store. I have GRU cable service.

Useful to increase WiFi coverage. Great value. This increased our downstairs coverage to full bars.

My television/living room is at the back of the house and the router is in an office at the front of the house. I lived with an unstable wifi connection to my laptop in the living room until being on vacation in London, renting a flat, being told by the owner of the wifi extender in the kitchen. Once I understood what this was I immediately bought this unit upon returning home. Setup is basically automatic-just follow the instructions. I now have a fast and reliable wifi connection to my laptop.
