Not worth it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the x42 headset for Xbox 360 (bought for $130) and it was 10 times better than the stealth 500x. The only advantage to this headset is being completely wireless, but its not worth sacrificing sound quality. They don't get very loud and they have no "punch" compared to the x42 headset. I returned the stealth 500x to get the Astro a50. Worth every penny. The a50 headset is a home theater system on your head. They have the punch, the volume, the build quality, an equalizer that actually makes a difference... Do yourself a favor, save an extra $100 for the Astro a50 headset and I PROMISE you that you will be 100% satisfied.

Great headset for audiophiles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent set of ear cans, only complaint is that the plastic around the ear cups is weak and can crack if not handled carefully...lots of custom options for sound setting via the TB website

Most Comfortable Headset!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this headset about a month ago. I wanted to really get some use out of it, before I rated it. This headset is by far the most comfortable I have ever owned. Super light weight. Also, I wear glasses while gaming, and I have no problem wearing them for several hours. The surround sound is great, and you hear very small details within the game, that you didn't know existed before. The only complaint I have is, I wish they went just a bit louder. However, the max volume is comfortable, and shouldn't keep anyone from buying this headset. I am sure there will be updates to the headset making them even better. The setup was really easy and ready to go in no time. Flawlessly connected in no time. Headphones last about 10 hours before needing a recharge.

Great headphones, but a little overpriced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these headphones. My only complaint is that it's difficult to remove the microphone. Very clunky for listening to music.

Very disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had these for about 18 months and was generally pleased with their performance until they quit working. I contacted Turtle Beach Support to ask about what my options were. I was told, it is over a year, they do not offer any type of repair service so I must replace the product. They give no insight as to what the problem could be - bad battery, etc? They still look brand new and worked perfectly right up until they didn't. I had them on the charger and then they would no longer power on. I am a very casual gamer and they don't have a lot of hours on them. $200 for a disposable product with ZERO support outside of 1 year is unacceptable. It is the LAST Turtle Beach product I will buy. As added info - I get 7 red blinks when I attempt to turn them on and then nothing. TB support couldn't give me any information into what the problem may be. They just said I should buy a new set. I will - just not from them. The Best Buy Replacement Program (or whatever it is called) would have been a good investment but I have never had a problem with electronics in the past, outside of something that didn't work out of the box.

I could not get them to work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Followed the instructions on how to connect the headset to my xbone with no success so I contacted turtle beach explaining my situation. Their response was for me take them back to best buy and exchange them for another pair. They did not offer some kind of compensation considering the inconvenience of me having to take the bus back to best buy, so instead I decided to return them and get my money back.

Horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a next generation system, the One has severely disappointed when it comes to their headphones. These do not have any Bluetooth support and are a pain in the butt to setup correctly. I have the TB XP 510s and I plug in using the adapter. These headphones offered zero improvement. Played with them an hour and back in the box they went and returned. Save your money and be patient unfortunately or be disappointed.

Great product one fatal flaw
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the Stealth 500x after having a bad experience with the Stealth 420. Everything worked fine at first then I began to experience some sort of feedback on top otlf the audio. The feedback was persistent and I was never able to find a fix. I reached to Turtle Beach but after a 4 day delay in waiting for a response, all for them to tell me to do a factory reset. I have since returned them.

Bad headset not durable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is good but durability is real bad for a $150.00 headset. The plastic by where the ear muffs are is held together with cheap plastic that keeps breaking. Don't waste your time with this Turtle beach 500x stealths. The turtle beach headsets just aren't durable as they used to be.

Not what I pay for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After the first two days using the product it started making noise like a broken speaker then I noticed the model name on the headset was different than the one on the box I checked on line and it looks like the headset that came in the box was an older model I was so disappointed but glad I got my money back

Stealth 500x is a mixed bag
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an issue with some Astro A50's I had purchased last week and went to exchange them, however Best Buy was out of stock, and I saw these high up on the top shelf (why were they not with the rest of the headsets?) so I decided to give the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x a test drive. Before using them, I followed their instructions and updated the firmware with what was available from turtle beach website on 10/28 (headphones and transmitter were updated). After using them for about 6 hours, here are my observations. 1. The build quality 'feels' cheap compraed to the Astros. They may actually last a long time, but they just feel like the plastic used is not premium grade. They very well may be, but overall the unit just feels a bit flimsy for a high end product. 2. They are decently comfortable. The ear cups are a little small and do not fully cover my ears. 3. Sound.... decent so far, but they lack the punch of the Astro's despite using bigger speakers (50mm v 40mm). The sound was clear and free of interference, and the chat came through crystal clear, but they just didn't have... hmm.. depth? I did only use the "gaming mode/fps" presets (playing Destiny) so perhaps other modes may behave differently. The 7.1 surround feature is definitely there, but it's hard to tell how well it works, mainly due to the chat volume issue as I was doing the VoG raid, and the chat audio drowned out the game audio, which leads to my next observation. These headphones are not very loud at maximum volume. 4. Chat volume is not adjustable. There are 2 separate 'wheels' to adjust both game and chat audio, however only adjustments with the main volume control worked. I could not adjust the mix of game/chat audio; they stayed at a fixed ratio. 5. Adj. mic monitoring does not work unless the chat is muted, making it pretty much useless. 6. No headphone stand? Really? You had to save that extra .75 cents per unit? I do love the fact that the headset does not require a wired connection to the controller. You can simply put the controller down and walk around (within reasonable range) and continue to hear game and chat audio. If a wire between the controller and headset is a big deal, then the 500x should be considered as this is the only headset for the XB1 which is truly wireless. Other than that, it would be difficult for me to recommend it with its current issues, especially at this price point ($230). While I was slightly critical of the Astro A50's in my review of them, having used the Stealth 500x I have a new appreciation for the Astro's. Yes, they require a wired connection to the controller, but the build quality, comfort and sound are all superior to the Stealth 500x and despite the extra $70 deserves.. even requires strong consideration. I'll update if TB support resolves the problems I mentioned, but until they do, despite the good, and the unique (only truly wireless headset for XB1), I can't recommend these at this time.

junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this headset less than a month and took excellent care of it and then it just stopped powering on. Turtle Beach support has been completely worthless and they don't seem to think this is a problem. I would advise everyone to find another company to buy from.
