For the sound and the awesome human hearing feature, these are the best bang for your buck.so batteries needed was a major plus as well.

Sound is great, headphone are UNCOMFORTABLE.

Sold it on ebay and got the hyper cloud 2 - OMG amazing sound quality and comfort!

Amazing sound

It drains a bit faster my controller battery, but I just got rechargeable so I'm not worried about it anymore. Crisp sound. And can also interact with anything with a headphone jack. These things are crazy and I love using them.

Surround capable cans are coming...

I got the sale price through BestBuy at $130 and then applied reward zone certificates. At that price, I wouldn't hesitate to get these again. I know most people play these headsets for better FPS situational awareness, and they work great for that. What I was surprised by was the sense of immersion in FIFA 14, where drums and crowd noise became more distinct and identifiable. Over my speakers (nice Yamaha 5.1 surround setup) that was turning into a muddy wall of white noise. On the headphones, it actually sounded like a stadium environment. Impressive. I hope the headband relaxes a bit over time. Turtle Beach has already announced the next Stealth500X will be 7.1 surround, so if you need a competitive headset, you will have to wait a bit.
