Customers are saying

Customers commend the Elite 800 Wireless DTS 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Gaming Headset's exceptional sound quality, wireless functionality, and comfortable design. Many also appreciate its good battery life. However, some users find the buttons overly sensitive, the price high, and the fit snug for larger heads. A few also noted the headset's weight as a potential issue during extended use.

I was researching headphones and was also looking at gaming headphones to see the difference between the 2. I looked at beats by Dre and these. . . .expecting the beats headphones to sound better. . . .They did not! I use the headphones to listen while gaming and also while listening to music while i travel on the airplane. (yes, I take them with me while traveling.) they sound great! I have no complaints Great for everyday use . . .gaming or listening to music.

I love the headset, it was very easy to configure and has amazing sound quality. The only complain I would say is that every once in a while it might disconnect before you turn on the Xbox and have to re sync. It takes hardly 1 minute but overall I would recommend if you're a huge gamer.

I've been through several TB headsets on the lower end, and never owning one over a year. Figure I'd bite the bullet and purchase the elite and couldn't be happier. Takes sometime to get use to the buttons on the headset instead of on your controller. Sounds is great. You can really tell the difference between the less expensive headsets. Only issue is that the directions for setup could be better. Make sure you buy the warranty. These are to expensive to not have one.

Love the rechargeable feature, but everything else not so much. Headset is very touchy, changes settings just by bumping or light touch. Sound gets muffled when chatting in game chat. Just expected better quality especially for the price.

I love how simple the headphones were to set up. I love how I can pair them with my xbox AND phone at the same time so I can take calls or listen to music. The sound quality is great but it is lacking bass in some of the sound settings. Other than that I love them.

While these headphones are some of the most expensive out there. They are probably the best sounding I've found. I was hesitant to buy Turtle Beach as I've not had good luck with lasting quality. But so far they've been fantastic. Great sound, wireless, microphone (after Firmware update), and features. The one drawback I have found is that they are a tad tight and start to hurt my ears after a couple hours. Other than that one minor issue, they are great! Buy them!

After reading all the reviews, I purchased the Elite 800 for my PS4. When I got it home and connected properly (Yes, I put the Optical In on the transmitter and connected the USB to the PS4 directly). The sound was muffled and I could not control the volume on the headset. So I Googled and YouTubed all the problems and fixes. Nothing worked!!! For a "premium" gaming headset at $300, it should work first time without any issues. I have decided to go with the Astro A50s because they worked right out of the box. Very disappointed considering the price and the hype around these headsets.

These are by far the best headset I've own. Just make sure you get the warranty. Worth the extra money. I've had a few different TB headsets and there seems to be a flaw in the band, which will eventually break near the ear piece. Otherwise, great sound and mic.

My kid woke me one morning and I thought I was having a Vietnam War flashback. The thing is, I’m not old enough for that war. He set up his Call of Duty to my big TV and surround sound and I swear I was I a swat zone. These headphones stopped all that. They can get expensive, but great sleep is priceless. Give them a try. My kid loved them and he’s picky about sound; just like his father.

Great headset and comes with a good charging stand that displays them nicely. Would prefer a diff color than green however being the only true wireless headset I am fairly pleased with it. No issues with friends hearing me without the boom mic so don't be afraid of that.

The sound is exceptional however the controls are clunky and not easy to navigate with the headset on. Also it's very easy to accidentally press a button when putting the headset on or taking it off. This can mess up your settings which can be quite frustrating.

This is by far the best headset I have ever owned! There is no boom mic to get in the way. There is also a excellent noise cancelling feature, it works so well that my wife was literally right behind me blow drying her hair with the hairdryer on high and I didn't even have to mute the headset. My friends couldn't even hear it. The best headset I have ever owned!

Setting up for the PS4 was simple enough however within mere minutes of using, the audio began to dip in and out of frequency, about every 5 minutes or so. When it works it sounds decent but for such a pricey product you would expect better quality. While searching for a solution the audio went from skipping every so often to instantly emitting an extremely loud screeching sound continuously. I have previously owned Astros and thought to give turtle beach a try. First impression was that this brand is a joke. Maybe I got a manufacturing defect but regardless I payed for a high priced product and all I got in return was wasted time and inconvenience. Definitely going back to the good ole Astros.

They were great, when they worked...

I bought these just about a month ago. The first two weeks I used them they were great, no complaints. But when I tried to use them a third week, they would continuously play audio for 10 seconds or so and then it would cut out for 5 seconds. I noticed that I didn't get the "Headset assigned" message so I tried everything I could think of for two weeks to get them to work again. Checked for firmware updates, sign out and back in. Power cycle the headset, power cycle the xbox one, and several other variations of things. Nothing worked. When that failed I contacted Turtle Beach support. After submitting my request for support via the online forum (I thought there was supposed to be an elite number, but nope) I had to wait until Monday for a reply. The guy gave me one thing to try, which I did and replied that it did not work. I waited 24hrs for a reply for a second thing to try, which I did and replied that it didn't work. At that point I sent a second e-mail asking if there was going to be 24hrs between things to try and got no reply back. I sent a third e-mail that Tuesday that said I've had enough and I expected better from a $300 headset that worked for 2 weeks and if I didn't get my issue resolved that day I was taking them back. That was yesterday, I never did receive a reply. So, I just got home from returning this headset. They worked fine, for two weeks and never again after that.
