These are excellent headphones, in general, but it seems that when you put all audio through them when paired with a PS4, there are dropped sounds as you use them. Admittedly, I haven't used the microphone, which is hidden, so I cannot rate that portion, but overall I like the headphones.

I read the reviews and was concerned with the possible mic issues, but I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. I downloaded the update and I have spent hours online and I've had no complaints concerning how I sound; I even asked just in case people were being polite. I do have to remove the headset after an hour or so just to give my head and ears a rest, but I imagine that would have to be done with almost any headset. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

I received the Elite 800x headset the other day and have been loving every minute of it. Right out of the box I connected both the transmitter and headset at the same to my PC to perform an update. Everything was up to date. I then hooked it up to my Xbox One and started a party chat with a friend to see how much of an issue the mic is. It wasn't an issue! At first he said my voice volume sounded low and a little distant. The headset is set up out of the box to quiet room setting under active noise cancellation. I went through the settings from the Turtle Beach app called "Ear Force Audio Hub" and ended up setting in on the loud room setting and my friend said I sounded clear and he could hear me just fine. He did say that my voice is not as loud as before but I expected that since the mic is on the backside of the left ear cup. We then got into a few hour session on Call of Duty AW. I was worried about how these would feel after gaming for a few hours and I have to say that I had no issues at all. I have a pretty big head and I didn't feel the headset putting any pressure on my head at all. I could game in these for a very long time without my head feeling any pain or pressure. I will say that my ears got a little hot around the 2 hour mark, but that's minor for me. I just turned on the ceiling fan and got back to gaming. I previously had the Turtle Beach Ear Force XP510 headset and loved it with the Xbox 360. I only had a small Bluetooth dongle that I had to attach to the controller and it was 100% wireless. When I switched to the Xbox One I had to buy the adapter and connect an audio cable from the headset to the controller. The Elite 800x is 100% wireless!!!! There is no adapter you have to connect to your controller. The sound quality is a huge step up from my XP510's! I love being able to change everything I need to through the Ear Force Audio Hub app. I've only used them for gaming and music and it is without a doubt the best headset I've owned to date. If you're worried about the mic issue, don't! Just go through the settings while in party chat with a friend and you'll get it sounding just fine. Your voice won't be as loud to your friends anymore because you don't have a boom mic right in front of or next to your mouth, but they'll be able to hear you loud and clear. For my friends it's a good thing that my voice isn't as loud as before because I tend to get pretty vocal at times.
