Customers are saying

Customers commend the Elite 800 Wireless DTS 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Gaming Headset's exceptional sound quality, wireless functionality, and comfortable design. Many also appreciate its good battery life. However, some users find the buttons overly sensitive, the price high, and the fit snug for larger heads. A few also noted the headset's weight as a potential issue during extended use.

Bought two months ago and now the headset won't power on. Thanks a lot, 300.00 down the drain. I will never buy Turtle Beach headphones ever again.

I had a problem with my headset and even though I have contacted customer service I am being ignored. Very disappointing for a $300 headset.

I would have loved to give these a good review, but they are obviously for teenagers, children, and ppl with smaller heads. The audio was very faded, and sounded like it had an echo and distortion. Even utilizing the app didn't help. After using them twice, they stopped working all together. When I returned them, they said my set was defective. I swapped them for a pair of Astro A50's and I've never been happier

    Mic works fine after update

I usually don't write reviews but when I was searching for a new set of headphones I kept reading conflicting reviews about the mic on 800x's. After reading all the negative reviews I was set on getting the 500x just because it had a boom mic. I decided to give the 800x's a try knowing if they did not meet my expectations I could return them. Got home first thing is to update the head set and charging base and like was mentioned by others they have to be updated at the same time so you'll need two USB ports. Updating couldn't be easier simply download the turtle beach audio hub and connect the head set and charging base to computer and it updates. I can't comment on mic performance before update because I updated first. Bottom line for me anyway is the mic works perfectly fine, not sure why others are having such problems. I'm sure the majority of the problems are from people using them and not bothering to do the update. As soon as I got mine updated hopped online and asked some friends how I sounded and they all said the same thing can hear you load and clear. The one thing I've learned from this experience is that sometimes you just can't go by negative reviews in some situations. If I would have I would have just passed these up and missed out on some great headphones. I did notice before my purchase that there were a few recent reviews that mentioned they did the update and had no mic issues, I'm happy to say I fall into that camp. As for everything else I'm very happy with them. Fit perfectly fine sound great and love the charging base. Been using the phone app just to see how it works and it's a cool feature. Battery life is spot on on my first charge I got 10 hours before I put them on the charger and they still had some charge left.

I bought these specifically for watching movies. I did some research on headphones and couldn't find any that had 7.1 surround sound, except for the gaming headsets. Regular headsets will work, but lack the quality you expect for watching movies. The sound quality is more and better than I expected. These practically do everything a person would want. I had no problem connecting to many PS4. Bluetooth pairing was a breeze. I watched several movies the first night and was so happy with the performance. However charging them first is a must, to get the most out of them. They have 6 Equalizer settings with 24 sub settings. No matter your taste, there's a sound to suite your needs. They also have a magnetic cradle base for charging. This is so nice. I looked at every major brand before deciding on these. Also the sound quality puts the theater sound system to shame. Whether your thing is movies or games. You can't go wrong with these.

Expensive doesn’t mean better, I bought the headset after 3 weeks it had a usb issue (got easily bent and wouldn’t connect) also due to the buttons on the headset it’s hard not to bump it and it messes up the settings, strongly recommend getting a RIG or Razer headset.

Do not buy buttons on sides push by wind blowing they are so sensitive. chat works only when it wants did not work right out of box purchased during blackfriday in July 2015 for xmas gift opened in sept Best Buy said it was outside of return do your self favor get the ps4 gold wireless for $100 buttons require pressure and very user friendly for setup and operation they are durable enough to withstand a war. Again I would not recommend elite 800 unless u enjoy wasting your money or need a cool looking night light from transmitter glowing blue in dark. First bad review I have ever given.

I bought these looking for competitive head set. The mic on these are boomless and people I play with say I sound like my head is under a blanket and muffled. If it was not for the mic issue I would have kept these because I loved the ease of the app and the sound in the headset
