Customers are saying
Customers commend the Elite 800 Wireless DTS 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Gaming Headset's exceptional sound quality, wireless functionality, and comfortable design. Many also appreciate its good battery life. However, some users find the buttons overly sensitive, the price high, and the fit snug for larger heads. A few also noted the headset's weight as a potential issue during extended use.

Elite my a**! Very disappointing.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to buy these over the Astro A50's or the Steelseries H after reading dozens of reviews and after watching dozens of YouTube reviews. I have a set of the PlayStation Gold's but I was looking to upgrade. The FIRST set of these I brought home and before I even hooked them up to my PS4, I downloaded the newest firmware updates for both the transmitter and the headset. It went well, no problems there. After I finished with that I went ahead and hooked them up to my PS4, following the instructions to a tee. Here's when the problems began... The audio was low and fading in and out. I figured the batteries were low so I sat them on the charger for about an hour or so. I tried them again. Same thing! So, then I tried plugging the headset into my PS4 via USB so that it could charge while I use them. It made absolutely no difference. I boosted the audio to the headset on the PS4 itself, it didn't help. I cycled through all the presets, that didn't help either. After messing with them for over an hour I decided to exchange them at Best Buy for another pair. I brought home the SECOND pair. The problems began before I could even hook them up. The headset wouldn't power on at all. This time, I skipped the software update and went ahead hooking them up to the PS4. I plugged in the transmitter and set the headset on top. The light on the transmitter turned red, meaning that it detected that a headset was on the charger, but the headsets light never came on at all. I plugged the headset into the PS4 via USB, IT STILL wouldn't power on. It wouldn't even flash to indicate it was plugged in at all. Nothing. It was completely dark. I give up with these things. I'll be returning these for a complete refund, tomorrow. I'm so disgusted with these things, I don't even want try a third pair. It's a shame because I heard they're amazing. Problem is, you have to get a pair that ACTUALLY WORKS!

Great Headphones, but Plastic?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased and owned my headset for a little over a year. Love the rich sounds, the surround sound dynamics, and the ability to change the presets from the headphones itself. The ability of auxiliary connection or Bluetooth connection has me using the headset almost 20 hours a day. It is because of my constant use that I find the use of plastic in the rotating earcups to be a big let down. I exchanged my first set for a second, six months later and the second pair is already broken due to the same problem (the earcup).

Great for Ps4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace my px5 and it works great! The only thing I don't like about them is when I am siting in my chair if my head is back and I turn it to the right. I hit one of the buttons on the headset thus turning it to different setting

Best PS4 headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with the Astro A50 or the Turtle Beach elite 800, but after extensive research I decided on the elite 800. I love my decision. The sound quality is second to none. The presets are a huge advantage in gaming and all the other options are great. A friend who bought the Astros has had alot of problems with his headset. If you are a competitive gamer, do yourself a favor, buy this headset.

A Solid Headset That is TRULY Wireless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't wait to get my hands on this headset. Finally a truly wireless headset. My only complaint was that the mic could be a little bit more sensitive. Something they should be able to tweak in later firmware updates.

Sound quality is a question but anyway rests suck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality depends on your personal flavor. I like the boss style (exaggerated base even though it's not realistic). Anyway, let's say that you like the sound from this headphone very much. You will need to sacrifice your head and neck for it. This item is incredibly heavy. You will not want to keep it on your head for more than an hour. Buttons are so sensitive so every time I tried to adjust the headphone move it around, it says something changed especially presets. And you will hear beeps occasionally for some reason which indeed hurts your ears. I just returned it and bought Sony Gold Wireless Headphone which is much cheaper than this. It's actually much better than this to me. I played a game for 3 hours with it and I didn't have any issues at all. Of course, its sound is not that good but just enough to keep my attention on a game. It's way better than being interrupted by pains. Even you will be disappointed by this headphone if you have dolby speakers and expect too much from the two small ear cups. It's not comparable with them at all.

Not What They Claim To Be
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these for use on my PC. After about 15 support emails with Turtle Beach, I decided to return the headset for the following reasons: - There is a very significant white noise present at all times when the headset is powered on. Turtle Beach claims this is normal in any high-powered headset, but there is absolutely zero noise or hiss in my pair of Logitech G930 headphones OR my pair of Bose AE2w wireless headphones. This also essentially nullifies the usefulness of the noise cancelling feature, because it's not quiet even when there is no audio. - While I realize Turtle Beach headsets are designed for durability, they are very uncomfortable (squeeze too tight) when worn for long periods of time. - The audio quality is just awful in-game. I compared the audio surround sound quality to my Logitech G930s and there is no comparison in the quality of sounds. The Turtle Beaches distort the audio and it sounds like I am in a cave. I am using the Shooter preset and the latest firmware. It does have punch to the sound though, and I think the bad quality is not due to low quality speakers, more likely the circuitry inside the headset. There is potential for this headset.

Great Headset, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER HA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset I paid over $300 for after warranty and tax is outstanding. I love the elite 800 headset, but I will never purchase another Turtle Beach product again. With the headset you are given membership into "the elite" which includes (as advertised on the front of the box) free t-shirt or hoodie and 2 free pair of speaker plates. After registering my product I selected which items I wanted and 5 months later I still have not received them or any information regarding them. When I called customer service 2 months ago to inquire, I was rudely told that the speaker plates were "hand painted" and it takes time and that I would "get them when I got them." Because the items were free, it cost me nothing to realize I prefer not to give my hard earned money to a company with terrible customer support. I can only imagine how they treat customers if something went wrong with a $300 + pair of headsets...

by far the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm only buy premium headsets. I tried them all astro just to name a few a40. A50. They're good but they always miss one thing unlike what turtlebeach does. Is the custom to pick out those very low distinct sounds you really need. Astro promised this feature when they released December 2013 and it never came so after I heard about the elite 800 I was very excited to get my hands on these bad boys. And may I say this is by far the best headset I've own in the past 4 years of playing cod. Get ready to be called a wall hacker lol. Because they pick up every little so u don't and are very good for twitch shooters. And very soft feeling and doesn't hurt your head

Over RATED gaming headset!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the worst sounding gaming headsets I have owned. I bought these yesterday got home and I set them up, simple set-up. I put in BF4 and started to play around with the diffrent EQ settings, these things are just god awful. They sound tinny its the best way to describe the audio and that hiss you hear all the time, and yes I updated the FW. I will say this the blue tooth features are nice but the most important part of a gaming headset is the audio!!! I took them back to day and picked up thew Astro's A50's for the ps4, WOW what a diffrence in audio, the Astros are amazing. The Astro's blow these out of the water 100 times over. You have been warned these Tb Elite 800 are complete garbage for a $300.00 gaming headset.

Sound different from previous pair of TB's
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is my second pair after owning a pair of XP 400's for 3 years. they feel more comfortable but i miss how well you can hear mic monitoring in the headset. I feel like with the Noise Cancellation it makes it hard to hear myself. I'm still getting used to the sound feeling like it sounds different as well. Bought this to truly be wireless from the xbox and it does just that.

Good sound but…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent surround sound and comfortable but the sad part is Turtle Beach build quality is lacking. All the stress points are made of plastic and over time stress cracks form. Eventually they fail. This is especially true in the headband area and mount locations of the ear cups. As a result of them failing within the warranty period they were returned.

works great if set up properly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this headset for about a month now. I have come to the conclusion that if you don't setup the headphone correctly and follow instructions in the manual step by step, you'll have issues. The only time people say I sound dull or far away in the chat is if the Mic preset is on "loud room" but it is silent or if it's on "quiet room" but the surrounding is loud. The only time I'll have issues where I can't hear anyone is if I leave my xbox on for a couple days and I jump in a game chat. A simple xbox reset is all I need to do to fix everything. Overall I love the convenience this headphone gives me and would recommend it if you hate the headset adapter on your controller

Great headset. My favorite ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a great headset. Well made. Doesn't feel cheap. Fits nice and snug on my head but not too much. Can play for hours without it hurting. The ear cups also folds in so it rests on your neck easy. Bluetooth works perfect. Charging dock looks fantastic. Sound and audio is top notch. I'm a heavy COD player and love the footstep preset. Just an amazing headset. I also LOVE how I can download an app on my Mac and I can actually download more presets to the headphones. Very easy to operate also. Great job Turtle Beach!!!

I wanted to love these...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. But I have a 7 7/8" circumference head. These are not comfortable for me for more than an hour or so before my ears hurt to the point where I need to take them off. Other than that, they're great, but unfortunately will be going back.

Good for a $50 to $80 price tag NOT $300!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking forward to get this headset so here's what happened: 1. The box states that this has the feature to hear yourself so you don't have to shout when speaking thru the Mic. Well these is not the case, this is NOT really an option her. I contact customer service regarding these issue and this was the response I got from them: - Turn off the noise cancelling, - select the quiet room setting, - turn the mic on (which obviously I had it on, which by the way I got not but bad comments on the quality of my voice from my friends online) -Turn the volume way up on the Mic So when u talk you could you can hear yourself. Okay, so basically everything has to be off and is not a feature like the Tango version that you can adjust the volume on how loud you can hear your own voice when you talk and actually hear yourself, these is NOT the case here. For $300 this feels like a $50 to $80 headset and that is just because the charging station is cool. This are by no means worth the exaggerating $300 price tag and yes I will be returning these, as the matter of fact I wouldn't even keep them even if they where free. Horrible job Turtle Beach. The sound quality is it great (I have to give them that) but they were tight in my head and after a short period of time using them (bout 30min) my ears were sweating and my head felt like it was getting smashed. They are comfortable enough to use them in 15min lapses. It was hard to make the Mic work since the beginning at the first place and the overall experience is just not worth the hassle, not mentioning the false advertising. I wish Sony wouldn't have screw up everything and I could still use my Tango headset without having to use the chat cable, now that is quality, the best headphones ever. I wish I could say the same for these ones.

Your Choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got these for my Xbox 1 and they sounded very crisp and clear beautiful surround sound. All is good and well until I joined a party with my friends and they said they could barley hear my voice. This irritated me so bad and there was nothing I could adjust when testing my mic out.
