Customers are saying
Customers commend the Elite 800 Wireless DTS 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Gaming Headset's exceptional sound quality, wireless functionality, and comfortable design. Many also appreciate its good battery life. However, some users find the buttons overly sensitive, the price high, and the fit snug for larger heads. A few also noted the headset's weight as a potential issue during extended use.

Best available gaming headset, feature rich!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so happy with this purchase. A couple days ago I ran into problems that people were saying about the volume not being as loud and I experienced it too! I didn't set it up correctly to the fullest according to the instructions with my PS4, I set output to "all audio", instead of what they tell you to " chat audio"; the volume now almost blows your head off, the surround and bass is ridiculous, call of duty has never been more enjoyable till now. Reasons why you should buy: 1. Surround sound 2. Wireless 3. Bluetooth, answer calls, listen to music along with gameplay sound ! 4. Sleek design similar to beats audio studio 5. Quality materials like leather ear muffs instead of the cheap mesh. 6.Charging station/ headphone stand. 7. Customizable looks with different faceplates. ONLY CON are the buttons, if you place them down on a table the wrong way or if you lay on your pillow it will activate something like pause, or something else which is a bit annoying if you are listening to music and turning your head only to have it paused; I like the old style where the buttons are clicky and if you want to press something you really meant it because it required more finger pressure. Other than that. No other headset on the market can come close, not even Astro A50, no bluetooth, surround is sub par, ear muffs are mesh, headphone stand looks and feels like cheap plastic...YES I bought them, tried them and are returning them. Only reason I even bought them because I didn't set my Turtle Beach ones up correctly and thought the volume was trash but now they sound amazing after correct setup. Buy this, follow the instructions word for word for setup!

Great sound, very poor mic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying I love everything about this headset BUT the mic. It sounds great and has a ton of cool features but the mic in party/game chat is about the same or worse than the kinect. I did all the necessary updates but it did not improve the quality. I will returning these and sticking with my TB Stealth 500x.

Good, short of great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comfort is not very good after a while. It's feature heavy but it can be confusing what buttons do what with all the different options you get. Sound is decent, build quality is ok but delicate.

Turtle Beach Elite 800
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased product and installed, had a minor issue and registered product. Then I tried to enter the Elite section of the Turtle Beach web site; however the link did not work and therefore I looked for their telephone number....no luck, they do not publish telephone numbers. Then I wrote an e-mail....., well ,after three days they responded and told me that I could not enter the Site without first downloading Goole Crome. Since I don't want another browser, and I cannot correct the issue I am having, and moreover cannot access their web site I returned the product.

Horrible Customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have been waiting for six months for my order. When I asked how they planned on making up for the long wait, the people were sarcastic and didn't really seem to care. Not to mention their website doesn't work most of the time. As for this headset, at times people have told me that its hard for them to hear me. Also you cant lie down without the buttons on the side constantly getting pressed and throwing off your settings. Comfort is not the best for $300 I expected more,

Not bad but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a defective set. The sound is good but it sounds groggy at some points. Also the mics do not work. I did notice that the frame rate was very slow due to a software conflict with the ps4 and the headphones. During alien isolation the frame rate was super slow, and when i unplugged the docking station from the ps4 the ps4 worked properly. I guess since this is a new headphone there will be bugs. So I'm taking these back for a new set. It's not good when you pay $300 for headphones and they do not work properly.

Expected so much, got so little.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I purchased my first set of the Elite 800s on sunday and was super excited. Got them home, opened them up, plugged them in, changed my PS4 setting, but got no sound. And I could not cycle through the presets either. I checked my wiring and settings multiple times but couldn't get them to work, even though they would connect to my phone via bluetooth. Just not the PS4 or PS3. So today I exchanged that pair for a new pair, and I plugged them in when I got home, and they played the PS4 audio, but none of the buttons were responsive!!! (audio sounded great at least.) I plugged it to my computer and ran the ear force audio hub hoping for an update, but it has said loading device for the past two hours. The second pair fixed one error but gave me a new huge one. I was sad, to say the least. What are the chances that I got two defective headsets? I dont know, but I would stay clear for now. Im hoping to hear back from Turtle Beach soon. If anyone has tips to try and help, please send them my way.

Broken Out of the Box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading a few reviews I decided to give this headset a try. I knew I had to update the firmware and there were known issues. What I didn't expect was how difficult it was to do this. I'm pretty tech savy, but it took hours before I could even get the base to show up on my computer. I have win 8.1 and found a driver fix on the turtle beach support website under the 500x trouble shooting page. Eventually I got it updated and everything seemed to be going well until I tried to use the mic. People could hear me for the first few seconds and then nothing. I followed all the suggestions on the support website, but nothing worked. I tried to take them into exchange them, but every bestbuy within a 50 mile radius of me is out of them.

Excellent all around headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The aesthetics are amazing, the sound quality is stellar, and all the presets are a joy to browse through. This headset is amazing. It encompasses everything you can expect from any turtle beach headset. The only reason i give this a 4 out of 5 is that, after extended use, ( 4 + hours) it becomes uncomfortable around the ears. i feel like they're being squished. other than that, everything works just fine, and the noise cancellation features work pretty well.

Do Not Even buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well to start off the only headsets that I have purchased have always been Turtle Beach. These were by far heart breaking because of the connectivity issies and the extremely low chat volume. The game sound is nice but Turtle Beach made these very complicated and after 4 painful and trying to reach out to Turtle Beach and updating the headset I finally gave up and bought myself some Astros A50. Those are insanely awesome since the only games that I play are Call of Duty... Turtle Beach gave me a hufe run around and lost a long time customer. In the end I felt like they didn't care about my satisfaction...

Great sound horrible durability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dont waste your money on this headset. I received these as a gift last year....great sound but they WILL fall apart and you will be constantly pairing them to your console because they are always resetting. First thing that broke on mine was the piece that slides when you adjust the headset for your head....had to tape that up so they wouldnt keep falling. Then the micro usb port has become so loose the cord just falls right out. And last but not least it doesnt keep a charge that long so if you’re a hardcore gamer that plays more than 2 hours you’ll be sitting there with a wire hanging out of the headphones. Do not buy these they are horrible especially for that ridiculous price. This is my second pair of turtle beach headphones and i wont be buying a third.

Not worth it, low quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this headset when it came out and I use it heavily and competitively for years. The only pro on this headset is the sound quality. This headset is poorly made, it broke on the right headband and left ear cup leaving it un useable. It occasionally completely disconnects from its receiver making it take forever to re pair. That's the major problem other than the mic makes me sound like my nose is clogged based on the level of noise canceling its on. Last is after several hours of use my ears get sore. Do not get this headset if you wish to get your value out of it. This isn't my first turtle beach... I had the px4, px5 and an older wired headset. Overall turtle beach makes a lousy quality headset that is due to fall apart. I am now switching to the Astro a50s. I hope this helped you

Horrible microphone.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset is amazing no doubt, but when people say you sound like your talking through your kinect or you sound muffled, I really hate that. My brother told me that I sound perfect with an actual boom on my turtle beach 500 x, but on this one sounds terrible. I play destiny and that requires talking to people. I don't want to be kicked from a raid just for the fact that I sound muffled. Also I have a lot of experience with headsets and I messed with all the chat presets. Nothing helped. I also updated the headset and still didn't fix it. Not having an actual mic boom is a mistake on turtle beach's part.

Gamers read before buying
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lot of good reviews about sound quality, feel, etc. But, for gamers who have owned several headsets - you need to know mic monitoring does not work with these headphones (even with noise cancellation off). Audio cuts in and out frequently and on the ps4, party members could not hear me even with mic volume set to highest setting on ps4. Back to the XP7's until they get this right.

Good headset but not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall good headset with lot of preset options, plus is completely wireless. I have had no issues with other people hearing my voice when chatting, unlike some complaints about this issue earlier. It does start to hurt after wearing for more than couple hours. One big issue I have is a good amount of times I do hear static/white noise and it really ruins the sound. Keep hearing that this is expected and nothing we can do, but in my opinion shouldn't happen for such an expensive headset. I would return these if I could.

Lacking Quality and Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these on 10/26 and installed them on my PS4 with no issues. I turned them on and the voice prompt was so loud it hurt my ears. I tried to adjust the volume for the voice prompts and found that they can not be adjusted. The second problem I had was the bluetooth notifications and volume are also very loud. You can adjust them but that change also affects your chat volume so therefore you have to constantly adjust the volume when you switch between the two. The sound quality is terrible for a $300 headset! I was expecting a nice balanced sound but the bass is overpowering and hard to get used to. There is no way to manually adjust the bass and treble on this headset. Turtle beach provides their Audio Hub Installer software but does not provide software that you can use to adjust bass and treble to your liking. I contacted Turtle Beach tech support and got little to no support from them. They said they would look into a software update to fix the voice prompt issue but made no promise. They didn't even ask for me to send them back to test them. Maybe they can can fix these issues with software updates but as they stand right now I wouldn'y pay $150 for them let alone $299.

Awesome - But Broke.....Twice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved the headphones sound and features. First pair broke after 6 months. They cracked right at the base where the ear piece is. All I was doing was putting them on. To Turtle Beaches credit, they warranty replaced. Second pair broke last night. I'm done with them....
