Customers are saying

Customers commend the Elite 800 Wireless DTS 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Gaming Headset's exceptional sound quality, wireless functionality, and comfortable design. Many also appreciate its good battery life. However, some users find the buttons overly sensitive, the price high, and the fit snug for larger heads. A few also noted the headset's weight as a potential issue during extended use.

My husband bought this a year ago and the band broke in 3 different places. He was not being rough. He was simply taking it off his head and it snapped. The company refused to help because it’s over the 1 year mark. (Barely) We tried to glue it and I tried to sew a band around the plastic to fix it as well. Neither worked. This product is cheaply made and for the price this should be way better quality.

    Really bad experience

I picked up a pair after seeing some online reviews, and my first issue was that the headset wasn't paired to the base station. So I followed the instructions to try to pair them and nothing. The lights simply blink without ever discovering each other. So I took them back and got a new set. The second set worked good for the first few hours then the mic stopped working. I Googled the problem and found out that the latest firmware version would fix this issue. The update fixed the mic issue, however sound stopped coming out of the headset. I honestly have never had such a terrible experience with a 300 dollar headset, I guess I should have stuck with the cheaper Turtle Beach headsets that I have had no issue with.

Everything else is true about this marvelous premium gaming headset only if it works. Mine's a li'l over a week now and the power button just suddenly stopped working. So, I am now left with a seemingly bricked gadget! Update: Dropped by at Bestbuy earlier today to have it replaced. So, far so good with the replacement. A friend got these for me. I decided to look up the pricing after opening them up and BOY was I not expecting these to have cost him nearly $300. Poor quality, VERY uncomfortable, sound quality is mediocre at best, does not connect and stay connected to my computer, all-in-all, I'm probably still going to use them to see if they improve with time, but I'll probably just end up returning them for some A50s which cost about the same and have considerably better build quality and nearly no bad reviews.

    Great sound but horrible microphone.

To start, this headset has an absolutely incredible surround sound and overall sound quality. I was very pleased with this aspect. However, when using this headset in party chats which is a primary use for it, the lack of a mic boom completely destroys this mic. I honestly had to yell so that my friends could understand/hear what I was saying. Please avoid this product if you are looking for a solid party chat headset with great sound quality. Buy the Turtle Beach XO 700. Its a much much better headset for less than half the cost of the 800x. Stay away from this headset!!!

I love turtle beach headphones. I have been a huge fan forever. But I had purchased this pair and I couldn't tell you how awesome they are because THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW PS4 SLIM! After trying everything to get these to work, I finally found out that it was because of the new system. If you have the slim, do not buy these!!!! It is a waste of money and you will be disappointed.

it was the perfect headset until i used it for more then an hour. it squeezes my ear so hard it hurts, and it is impossible to rest your head at anything if you don't want to change the headset settings or turn the headset or the Bluetooth off. though it is perfect if you have a small head, and playing while sitting straight or standing.

I absolutely loved my elite 800 when I first got it. After using it a while it started giving out this loud screeching noise that was near deafening, so I thought something was wrong and returned it to turtle beach (warranty) for a replacement. The replacement arrived with a similar problem, Instead of the screeching though, it was a loud buzzing sound that never fades away. I looked around and read that this may be due to interference from devices using 5g wavelengths, like wifi networks. Now obviously that is a problem because the only fix would be to switch of the wifi in the house which is a no go. what would the point of even having these if I cant play online. bottom line, look elsewhere. terrible product and even worse support.
