GREAT WHILE IT LASTED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headset. Way better than astros. Just that the headset broke less than a month after my purchase. The right side you couldn't hear. I emailed turtle beach a week ago and still no response.

Needs A Better Fit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset was too tight for my head even on the highest levels. The grenades also sounded a little muffled in Black Ops 3.

Buy the Warranty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my X Box One X. Used them for about a month and enjoyed them but the headband band broke. I had the warranty so I replaced them and within a month and a half the new pair broke in the same spot. After two tries I purchased a different brand/style. They worked great until they broke.

meh, at best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.mainly got this for my ps4 and for a $200 headset it did not sound great.. volume super low with almost no bass (which is nice to have when playing bf1) and after only a hour of use started to feel pressure pain on my head and around ears.. i returned these and got the hyperX cloud 2 and they have been great!

Turtle Beach
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these based on my last turtle Beach. But this set did not have any bass at all. You also have to buy a separate console and it also cost $300. Did not like them. So I returned them.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The whole earcups cooling thing was kind of a joke. I didn’t like how they felt at all. I don’t like the feeling of not being able to hear my own voice because of the cans I’m wearing and if I can’t hear the level of my voice then it’s pointless to have an attached mic. Sound quality was ok

Delicate headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these headphones but they don't last they broke from the top plastic would not recommend. I should've bought the warranty. SO suggest on fragile headphones to buy the warranty.

Best headset I've ever used, BUT...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....they are not the best value out there. That goes to the Astro A40 TR w/ Mixamp Bundle (both the Elite Pro and A40 are on sale at BB as I write this). At suggested retail price, to get the same functionality (albeit with a few more features) as the A40, you will have to spend an additional $100 for the Elite Pro to get the Tactical Audio Controller, and while in my opinion, the Elite Pro headset is superior, it's nowhere near $100 superior. The A40s are certainly comparable and only slightly behind. The Elite Pro feels sturdy. Everything about its construction and feel screams quality. The Astro A40 was previously the most comfortable headset I've had, but the Elite Pro is better. Leather ear cups feel much better than the cloth of the A40, and to top it off they are filled with a cool gel rather than plain foam. They seal against your head and do a much better job of isolating the wearer from ambient noise than the A40s. That's also a problem as the Elite Pros do not have any sort of mic monitoring. To get that, you have to purchase a $40 adapter, or the $150 Tactical Audio Controller. To be fair however if you wanted the A40 to be sound isolating you'd have to spend another $60 for the mod kit. Still... Sound quality was crisp and clean, but again out of the box the Elite Pro is simply a stereo headset with less than minimum accessories -- it doesn't even come with a mic/audio splitter to provide separate plugs for voice and audio that is required on most PCs -- you have to purchase the adapter separately. The overall sound was slightly better than the A40 without the mixamp. For 7.1 virtual surround, you'll have to spend the $150 for the Elite Pro TAC. The A40 with the mixamp bundle provides this out of the box, and this combination provided superior sound over the Elite Pro without the optional $150 TAC. Turtle Beach really missed the mark with the Elite Pro. It's arguably the best gaming headset on the market, but by not bundling the Elite Pro Tactical Audio Controller (T.A.C.) at a competitive price point, it's simply not as good a value as the Astro A40 TR with Mixamp, and it just doesn't offer enough advantage from a comfort/quality/performance standpoint to make up the difference. The only downside of the Mixamp TR that I found is that you need 2 of them if you have both a PS4/PC and Xbox One. Unlike the TAC (which works on all of those), the Mixamp is an either/or -- you can't move it from one to the other. In summary, if Turtle Beach had an Elite Pro Headset / Tactical Audio Controller bundle at a similar price point as the A40 TR/Mixamp TR bundle, I would've given it a 5 star rating, but despite how good the Elite Pro headset is, I just can't do that due to its inferior value (bang for the buck). I'll still recommend it, but with the exception of some specific situations or "sale" prices, the Astro TR with Mixamp TR is a much better value. You built a great headset, Turtle Beach... now stop being cheap with the accessories and make your fantastic headset a better value.
