The audio quality unfortunately cannot compare to my HD800 but it is unfair to compare anything gaming to an audiophile set of headphones lol. Anyways, I got this on sale so it's not too much complaint from me but I would not buy this at full price.

The Recon 200's require charging due to the fact that they are amplified headsets. In order for the amplification to work, the headset would need to be powered by a power source of some sort.
Rather than tethering you to the console or another power source via a USB cable, we placed a rechargeable battery in the headset. This allows you to only have one connection to the console's controller, rather than two (one to the console, one to the controller).
If you are interested in a version of the headset that can be used when it is not holding a charge, you'd want to take a look at the newer Recon 200 GEN 2.
