Customers are saying

Customers admire the Recon 200 headset's sound quality, comfort, and value for its price. Many appreciate its compatibility across multiple gaming platforms and the convenient flip-up microphone. However, some users point to issues with battery life and the wired connection. A shorter cord length and occasionally low volume were also cited as drawbacks.

    Great Sound and feedback...however...

I bought this 3 months ago. Before I get into the negative stuff, I will say that the sound and the feedback from the mic is amazing and I loved it when I first got it. It was definitely my favorite headset that I ever bought for gaming since I could just turn the feedback volume down to only really barely hear myself and not hear any of my surroundings. It was great! But this is a two star review for a reason... First off, the fact that I have to charge it at night is a huge annoyance however I got use to it and it doesn't bother me as much as it use to but again...huge annoyance... The one thing I HATE that has been annoying me for the past two-three weeks is the fact that the left speaker sometimes just doesn't want to work and I have to mess with the volume on the side to get it to work. The mic feedback also is starting to go and I need to mess with that volume as well. I just don't think this was worth the money I paid. Even though the sound and mic quality are AMAZING, the speaker and feedback going out sometimes are just super annoying and not very helpful when I'm playing a game that relies on sound. Also, there is a slight static noise but I was aware of that issue with Turtle Beaches since I have had one before with that same issue. It doesn't bother me as much as others, but that is definitely a negative as well.

The turtle beach headset was a birthday gift for our grandson. He loves the sound quality and the comfort of the headset. He was really surprised that it was as comfortable as it had been. So thrilled with the sound level while he polars his games.

Beat turtle beach headphones for this price point

How did I go so long without these headphones. I have tried several other brands and styles of headphones, and can honestly say these turtle beach headphones outlasted them all. I do take good care of them, but the sound and feel is exactly what I was looking for.

The headphones are great, however the microphone is not very durable, especially for the price paid. Nor the performance expected for the money! At least the replacement was easy with the extended warranty.

Bought this for my wife for work at home usage for computer based conference calls as a result of the Covid-19 thing. There was nothing else available at Best Buy, so was forced to purchase this product. It was more expensive than I was willing to spend, but it works perfectly, and we are happy with the purchase so far. Only downside is having to charge the headphones each day so they can be used all day the next day. Comes with a tiny useless USB cable, but we have spare longer cables that we use.

The sound on these is amazing and the mic is CRAZY sensitive at max. The only slightly annoying thing is the fact you have to charge them, but this is remedied by just plugging it in when you get off, can also be a good indicator because if they die while in use, you need to get off because you've been on for quite too long.

My god, this headset is so good. I never own an amplified gaming headset until this baby comes along. I bought it on sale and couldn't be happier. The amplification feature of this headset allows you hear your own mic so you know if you're talking soft or loud. It's quite an innovation that you can monitor your own mic. Minus one star for needs to be charged which kind of a hassle for gamers like myself but it's not a deal breaker. Charging is also optional only if you needed the amplification of the headset otherwise, you can just use this like any other wired gaming headset, plugging into the 3.5mm Headphone jack.

I use them for both my PC and my Nintendo Switch and they work great with both. They are easily adjustable and I've been able to wear them for hours comfortably. For a headset that doesn't have bluetooth capabilities, they are reasonably priced for the quality you get.

This headset is pretty impressive. Got it for my daughter and it does work on the Switch and PC and her tablet. They are super comfortable and I do like the fact that to turn off the mic is by a simple flip of it. Charging is easy. Great for a not so serious gamer.

These have great game sound. Lots of bass and make you feel the explosions and gunfire in games. Comfort is ok but not the best. Earpads could be a little bigger but the sound is great.

Overall I like these headphones. They are reasonably comfortable with good sound quality and the price point is fair. I’m a little confused regarding the need for battery power on a corded headset and it can be fairly frustrating when you’re ready to play and find the battery has run down because you or your child has forgotten to turn them off after the last use, but they seem to have a good battery life. If you’re looking for a less expensive headset with decent quality, you should be happy with these. I bought them for fully price, but it sounds like they go on sale from time to time and then I think they’d be a really good deal!

Good headset, however make note that it is 3.5mm wired, and you have to charge it. For Xbox you can plug it into the controller, and it will be semi-wireless

Amazing clear and crisp audio sound during game play. I really enjoy the fact I can push the microphone back to mute the audio. The powered audio have being charged up easily lasted 12 hours. Extremely happy with my purchase.

      Thanks for your feedback.

Please know that the Recon 200 is an amplified headset. In order for the amplification to work, the headset would need to be powered by a power source of some sort.

Rather than tethering you to the console or another power source via a USB cable, we placed a rechargeable battery in the headset. This allows you to only have one connection to the console's controller, rather than two (one to the console, one to the controller). TurtleBeach

I tried so many but they turned out to be simple and yet with very good sound quality. I managed to get those for 30 usd. It is bargain. They need to be charged up for the amp to function, you will notice battery is draining out then people can't hear you.
