Well, these headphones are hit or miss. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't! I wouldn't really care if they were headphones I bought.. just hate to see his disappointment. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for! Christmas he will be getting a better pair!

AVOID Turtle Beach-equipment failed in < 6 weeks.

Bought this the week after Christmas. The microphone failed after 5 weeks of light use. Emailed manufacturer after following their online troubleshooting. Rather than fixing the problem, all they did was send me troubleshooting instructions.

Could have been better

However after using them for a while even at that level of gaming they become subpar. They feel stiff, and the over audio quality is poor.
