Life long Escort user until now. Amazing performance compared to any Escort I've owned (9500, 9500ix, 360, Redline), at half the cost. You won't be disappointed.

It does what it says it does. It works quite well to be exact. the wife says its annoying. but after she learned about the button on the power connector its not so bad. Install is easy, and it is easy to read.

I LOVE my purchace from Best Buy. The Uniden R3 is the BEST radar detector at this price point. It gives me alerts to radar equipment long before I see the Police, giving me ample time to slow down. I don't speed very offen other then maybe 5 to 10 MPH over the limit on roads that have no traffic. I love the fact that you can change the colors of the screen and the sounds of the alerts to your liking. There are great filters on all the different types of radar. There are different ways you can set up the screen for the information you want to be displayed. There are so many different options that are available on this radar detector, I can't tell you all the ones that are available. Set up is easy. But at this price point and all the bells and whistles that are added, I would expect to pay over $400 for this unit.

wow, this one is so much better than my older $100 detector. Starts picking up the Ka band a mile away. Even if the police is on a side street or parking lot, it'll start beeping a long ways away.

Great for price, detects laser from a great distance. KA band sounded over 5 miles from point of origin on a winding hill country back road.

Very Accurate and gives ample time to slow down before actually seeing a police. Mainly picks up Kband and KaBand for me. Solid radar for the price have had it for about 4 months now.

This radar picks up everything very well and everything about it is awesome everything works very well perfect radar for the up close to the 300 dollar range 5 stars anyday

Stop looking!! You found the one you need! This baby does it all! I am so glad I read the other reviews and this girlfriend here catches signals from behind! She has got your 6! Highway Patrol, local PD and Sheriff’s have a viable source of income from tickets and a obligation to write them. Even if I am going with the flow of traffic here in So. California, and everyone is doing 10mph over the speed limit, anyone can be cited. Let it be the other guy and not yourself. I pay enough in taxes I do not need to be paying more and have my insurance go up as well. If you have a home monitoring system and do not have this you are giving your money away. Pays for itself the first time you avoid a possible citation situation. They know where you are, you have every right to know where they are. Mine has paid for itself at lest 10x since got it 1 month ago. This Uniden R3 is Awesome!

Great radar detector. Detects multiple banks like k and ka. Alert can be muted. The mount provided is steady.

Was doing some research before I bought this unit. New model came out R7, honestly the same thing with the exception of Arrows feature (will tell you where signal is coming from). The range on this is really good. Minor false alarms, I've muted/marked areas where they are and no issues honestly. It has saved me at least 3 times since I purchased it last month.

I liked it’s performance in city and on the highway! I want to find some traffic cameras to see how it reacts. I knew Speed Control unit was approaching before I even saw it. Display and volume was superb. Easy setup too!

Really simple to use. It does the job and is reliable. The mounting bracket also never comes off which I’ve had issues on other radars. Best bang for your buck and will save you on speeding tickets

Very strong at finding signals at long distance. All the features of being able to track where signals are and turn on or off, gps, etc are great. Looks and sounds great. Haven't had a lot of time to program it yet, but i love the features and it looks great hardwired with a blend mount! Can't go wrong with this detector!

Excellent long rang detection. Excellent value for a high performance radar detector. GPS is a must have in a radar detector. You are able to program it to silence false alarms from doors and buildings that you frequently pass by. I also own a Uniden R7. I prefer the R3’s smaller size.

I have had this R3 detector for almost 3 years now. Coming from both a Valentine One and an Escort 9500XL I was quite skeptical at the beginning, but following the reviews and expert evaluations from different websites I went for the R3. I do not regret it one bit. The R3 is reliable, precise and one of the best defense tools out on the road, and has paid itself many times over on the road. Tempted by the newer product and advertised improve capabilities, I recently bought an R7 for another one of my cars and I have to admit that, even though the R7 may be an updated version of the R3, with arrows and even more fine tuned electronics, the R3 is just as good and holds it merits. If you are on a tight budget and do not care about the new gizmos on the R7 and other similar products from Escort, you will not go wrong with the R3. It is a reliable awareness and advanced notice machine!!

I have been researching which radar detector to buy for weeks and 90% of all websites rated this #1. I received it and the first thing I did was verify it had the latest firmware and red light database. I then checked the settings against Vortex Radar site https://www.vortexradar.com/2017/06/how-to-program-and-set-up-your-uniden-r1-and-r3/ to configure it. You can fine tune for your own liking. I have to say that this radar detector has phenomenal range compared to my older Bel GX65. The only con that I have with the Uniden R3 is the max sound level setting. I like it to be very loud as I usually have my stereo up and this radar detector only goes to level 6 in volume compared to my older Bel detector that went to level 10. Read the reviews yourself but you will not be disappointed with the Uniden R3.

Bought as a gift and they absolutely love it! Definitely would recommend!

First radar detector. Seems like a good one… especially on sale. Good sensitivity (Laser detector aspect seems worthless). Nice feature set but can see the value of some pricier features (like directional indicators). Handling the heat of summer well. Definitely recommend hard wiring it.

Been using it for 6 months now and love the product is worth your money on every penny it cost
