Customers are pleased with the R3 DSP Long Range Radar and Laser Detector, particularly its impressive range, performance comparable to the R7, and comprehensive radar detection capabilities. Many find it accurate and easy to use, especially considering the price. While false alarms are a concern for some, the device's GPS functionality and other features are appreciated, and the display is easy to read. The size is also seen as an improvement over the R7.

A whole lot of research went into this purchase. It is the best value. Hardwire can be difficult in GM vehicles if using the mirror tap for to inconsistent voltage. I hardwired mine to battery without issue. Picks up miles away from signal. Watch out for false signal from Auto doors and stop lights

Yes this unit works like a charm. Great features like gps lockouts to eliminate those repeat false warnings in those troublesome areas. Easy to set up and use the many features this Uniden provides !

This radar detector works perfect! Insane range picks up the local cops KA band from well beyond sight. Filtering options, built-in GPS, and traffic camera features put it a top pick for the price. Forget the competitors max360, for $150 less this is a much better buy!

I haven’t had a radar detector in a long time. Since 1997 or so. Seemed mostly like false alarms back then. But I recently came across a review of some on YouTube. Vortex radar I believe. This was up there for quality and being a decent price. Although I still find these to be rather expensive for what they do and don’t do very well. But I do like that it has lots of filtering and options. I’ve had it a few weeks now and do like that it displays the speed, has gps, can mute memory marked locations that cause the detector to go off, blind spot monitoring filters, and so on. I also set it so that if I drive above 75, it tells me I’m above my desired limit. I don’t drive fast to begin with, but it can only take a few seconds to get there. In a couple locations on a certain band the range has been pretty good. Also similar locations that went off as false alarms over 20 years ago, still do. Even with filtering. I got this on sale and had a birthday discount that I used, and it ended up being not too bad of a price. Wish I could try them all and see which one I like, but hey, I’m not rich so I can’t.
I’m not sure if I will be returning this yet.

Nice radar detector. It is definitely an older model compared to other brands like Valentine. Lacks directional and sometime I do wonder where the signal is coming from. But you save more than $200 compare to other brands.
It is very sensitive and works wells in highways. In the city, there is a lot of false alarm, but it can be customized to reduce the noise. Overall, it is a great device if you are on a "budget"

I did my research before choosing the R3. After a month with it, I couldn't be happier. The range is incredible, the display is great with compass and speed, and can be set to auto dim brightness at a time you select. In city mode I get almost zero false alerts. Choose this or the R1 for an even better deal (no gps on R1)

Best $317 I’ve spent has gotten me away from a lot of speeding tickets and tickets in general. I also track your speed for you for those who have inaccurate speedometers. I like the customization options. This is very accurate. Let you know about speeding camera. It’s real like cameras, police of course. But this is a radar, not a police detector so it won’t go off every cop car. It will go off if the cop has their radar on or anything that it detects so I’ll be aware of that but still I enjoy it and will probably recommend to anybody who like likes to drive very fast.

Bells and whistles and bands and lasers make no sense to me. I want to know which areas I drive through require just a bit more caution and I want to know which areas are a false alarm. With this Uniden R3 not only do I get the comfort of knowing its a brand I trust, I get the ease of a one-button "set it and forget it" system. When passing through areas with automatic doors and such that trigger the false alarms it is literally with the press of a button that I never have to check again for police, ambulances, or other systems that trigger the radar detector. With those, I also get an amazingly long range of radar detection knowing when there is an accident or speed trap and whether to avoid the area or resume cautiously. Being in the middle of the road on price was definitely a big part of my decision in purchasing this, I didn't want too cheap to where I wouldn't trust it but not too expensive to where satellites would set it off. I feel confident in this radar detector and I would recommend this model to anyone that wants that extra level of precaution while on the road.

Works very well. Picked out 2 speed traps in 3 days. Malls, banks, supermarkets have cameras and scanners and it will set those off as well but overall very happy with device.

Works really well and does exactly what it’s supposed to. The only minor downside is the sounds it makes they can get a little annoying sometimes. Other than that, I absolutely love this thing!

It is a truly great unit for the price. I've had passengers tell me that the distance for detection of radars is better than their own, more expensive radar detector. The only minus is the lock out feature for stray radar signals needs to be improved as some times it forgets.

I have been a big fan and supporter of uniden. I own the R3, R7, and R8. For an entry level stand point and ultimate range the R3 is great. The negative is uniden is knonw to be a more noisy radar however this does improve with the R7, and R8. My R3 has had zero issues. If you are in the market and looking for an evtry level radar with great capabilities the R3 is simply the best

The detection on this thing is insane. Sometimes miles. Plenty of time to slow down. It is extremely loud when you get an alert. Such good quality for a reasonable price. Don't think about it, just buy it. You will not be sorry

This radar detector hasnt failed me yet, it picks up signals miles ahead. I'm never caught off guard! When its time to biy another unit, it will be the same brand.
So if you are in the market for a radar detector that will keep you notified of potential hazards both in the area and miles ahead; then here it is...get you one!

I traveled a lot from state to state and this has been the best radar detector I've ever used. I've picked up radars several minutes ahead of me (or from behind). Easy to use and the GPS is fantastic. For city driving, definitely put it on CITY mode and it will filter out a lot of false readings.

Tast device on Interstate 57 daytime and night was really accurate. Confident to speed up 90-110 mph no problem. Detect pig trap from miles away. Device is pack of futures and easy to use but power cable should be longer. I am highly recommended.

I’ve had multiple radars ever since i was 16. I recently bought this one about a month ago for a trip down to south Texas and it came in hand so much, it was so accurate with it’s readings I highly recommend this product to anyone it is a little pricey but its still cheaper than a speeding ticket.
