Uniden R3 Review – Outstanding Performance and Pea

I recently purchased the Uniden R3, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Right out of the box, the build quality feels solid and professional. Setup was simple, and the intuitive interface made it easy to customize to my preferences. What really stands out is the incredible range and accuracy. The R3 gives me plenty of advanced warning, especially on highways, and it filters out false alerts better than any detector I’ve used before. The GPS lockouts are a game changer—I can drive through areas with frequent false signals (like automatic doors) without being bombarded by alerts. The voice alerts and OLED display are crisp and easy to understand, even in bright daylight. It also stays firmly mounted and discreet, which is a nice bonus for keeping a clean windshield setup. Overall, the Uniden R3 gives me a huge sense of confidence while driving. It’s easily one of the best investments I’ve made for my car. Highly recommended for anyone who wants top-tier protection without the premium price tag of other models.

I have had many detectors, this one is the best I’ve ever had. I hope they add directional arrows for the next model. This one has a better range and more accuracy than detectors that cost upwards of $500

Im not a speeder... or a racecar driver but I will hint that this has saved me a few times! Its range and customizability is amazing especially for the price! This is perfect for the speed racers and the regular drivers that just want a little reminder when there is a police in the area or using a radar gun. Sometimes it can be easy to accidently go a little to fast when on long road trips so when this goes off its a awesome reminder to slow down. So many options and I love that i can switch to just KA Band and not get every alert while driving it has been 100% accurate for me living in california.

I purchased this to use on a long road trip from SC to FL and back. I drove around 1,000 miles with this detector and it did a great job alerting me to police radar. Definitely saved me a few times. The only negative is the detector will get set off by Honda minivans but there are settings to minimize the false alerts. There are actually a ton of settings. Takes some time to learn them all. This detector is expensive but you get what you pay for.

After going through many forums and YouTube videos of different radars, it all boiled down to pretty much one radar that shone above the rest. Uniden has risen to outperform what’s been the standard go to radars such as the Valentine One or the Passports and all for a very reasonable price. The range on this thing is a truly insane and I can tell it’ll put ease of mind while driving on highways. Unless you need directional arrows like the R7 has, this is the way to go.

I don't usually write reviews, but this product truly surprised me. I've used various radar detectors for over 30 years, and they were always confusing with the signals they emitted. In this case, during a trip between Miami and Fort Myers, this device saved me from at least two speeding tickets. Great product! I highly recommend it!!

If you're in the market for a reliable laser radar detector that won't break the bank, look no further! I recently got my hands on one and let me tell you, it's been a game changer. Not only does it come at a great price, but it performs flawlessly and has saved me from getting a speeding ticket a few times already. One thing I really appreciate about this detector is the minimal interference with other signals. It doesn't pick up false alerts, which can be a common annoyance with other models. When it beeps, you can be confident that there's a legitimate radar signal present. Overall, I highly recommend this laser radar detector for anyone wanting to stay within the speed limit while on the road. It's easy to use, reliable, and won't break the bank. Get one for yourself and see the difference it can make!

A whole lot of research went into this purchase. It is the best value. Hardwire can be difficult in GM vehicles if using the mirror tap for to inconsistent voltage. I hardwired mine to battery without issue. Picks up miles away from signal. Watch out for false signal from Auto doors and stop lights

This radar detector works perfect! Insane range picks up the local cops KA band from well beyond sight. Filtering options, built-in GPS, and traffic camera features put it a top pick for the price. Forget the competitors max360, for $150 less this is a much better buy!

I haven’t had a radar detector in a long time. Since 1997 or so. Seemed mostly like false alarms back then. But I recently came across a review of some on YouTube. Vortex radar I believe. This was up there for quality and being a decent price. Although I still find these to be rather expensive for what they do and don’t do very well. But I do like that it has lots of filtering and options. I’ve had it a few weeks now and do like that it displays the speed, has gps, can mute memory marked locations that cause the detector to go off, blind spot monitoring filters, and so on. I also set it so that if I drive above 75, it tells me I’m above my desired limit. I don’t drive fast to begin with, but it can only take a few seconds to get there. In a couple locations on a certain band the range has been pretty good. Also similar locations that went off as false alarms over 20 years ago, still do. Even with filtering. I got this on sale and had a birthday discount that I used, and it ended up being not too bad of a price. Wish I could try them all and see which one I like, but hey, I’m not rich so I can’t. I’m not sure if I will be returning this yet.

This is hands down one of the best radar detectors on the market that I have purchased. I have owned a few from inexpensive to more expensive than this unit and I fully recommend this one. Has saved me several times from being pulled over. I am a general contractor and drive over 1500 miles a week so for me it’s a life and time saver

Nice radar detector. It is definitely an older model compared to other brands like Valentine. Lacks directional and sometime I do wonder where the signal is coming from. But you save more than $200 compare to other brands. It is very sensitive and works wells in highways. In the city, there is a lot of false alarm, but it can be customized to reduce the noise. Overall, it is a great device if you are on a "budget"

A very reliable midrange high sensitivity radar detector for city and extremely long highway range! Stealthy and can peek around corners and the other side of hills and canyons! I'm extremely satisfied with the overall performance of this radar detector! It's a very affordable radar detector for the average income customer!

I did my research before choosing the R3. After a month with it, I couldn't be happier. The range is incredible, the display is great with compass and speed, and can be set to auto dim brightness at a time you select. In city mode I get almost zero false alerts. Choose this or the R1 for an even better deal (no gps on R1)
