Uniden Long Range Radar Laser Detector
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Uniden - R3BLK DSP Long Range Radar and Laser Detector Model: R3BLK SKU: 6188301 was purchased 3 months ago and already paying divedends. Was able to see the motorcycle cop and his dirty radar gun, not sure how it works with laser but for radar and speed traps it works well. Thank you Uniden, it helps to have a rabbit or a faster car in front of you so when those cops point it at them your alarm goes off and you don't get pulled over. Last speeding ticket cost me 700 dollars.

Excellent upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sold an Escort Passport 8500 and upgraded to the Uniden R3. Watched many video reviews and decided this is the one to go for as it has the best range and plenty of options. The only thing it does not have is a directional alert. I'm in sales and travel approximately 40000 miles a year by car in the last 2 months in using this radar detector it has not failed me once. I'm very pleased and it is a huge improvement over the Escort I had. Do your research, don't get fooled by the bigger names out there this is the radar detector I would suggest for anyone to get, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent protection.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Last detector I owned was from the late 80s. Let me tell you this is a completely different beast. In the configuration menu there is enough settings that you can get this pretty well mixed up-I would strongly recommend taking some time in reviewing some YouTube videos on how to set up your notification alerts, and which bands are in use in your state/area. Once I did this the false alerts were significantly reduced yet I still feel I’m getting very adequate notification. The detector runs warm-although this hasn’t been a detractor to how it performs which is at a very high level. This detector isn’t cheap, but then well-made, well functioning things never are!

Amazing, already paid for itself tenfold!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have been debating getting a radar detector, do it, it’s paid for itself almost 10 times at this point. It can be a little annoying at first with a lot of k band alerts from various things but once you go through your commute or regular roads and mute memory all the known radar signatures that aren’t cops you are riding good!

Perfect Radar Detector
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research before buying this radar detector, and all the reviews were definitely correct. It is great. I usually drive in pretty rural area‘s so I leave it on the most sensitive mode all the time. When I drive in the city it goes off more than some people might like, but I prefer the false alarms over possibly missing one. There are settings on it that I haven’t even begun to take it avantage of I would probably limit them but I don’t bother.

Best bang for your buck!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve own a couple radar detectors (cobra/ Escort passport 9500) and the Uniden R3 has a great user interface. Has good BSM which is VERY common now a days I realized. I haven’t used a detector 5 years ago and a lot has actually changed with MRCD and more and more cars using BSM. I get a few false alerts but it’s normally a quick alert and I’m learning it seems to be GMC. Long story short I did a bunch of research and this is the best. I wanted to sell myself on a Escort but I keep seeing in reviews/test they are double the price. If you don’t need the GPS save the hundred bucks and get the R1. Same under the hood performance just no gps. Oh and updating the firmware is a PAIN but finally got it to work after trying on both Mac and PC.

Finally, easy to program...
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this radar detector. I have owned several and frankly speaking I NEED one.... As an auto enthusiast it’s a necessary tool to have and having one that is very very simple to program and get functional quickly so I can get to driving is important. I like the quite ride feature quite a bit and the LED light set up has some very nice color options if you like that sort of thing, additionally the detector comes standard with the “smart cord” that is a plus for sure, all you need to buy in the box. Watch a quick video to get the idea on how to program and your off the the races. The range (Ka) is on par or better then anything else I have used and as of yet, has not let me done while enjoying any of my M cars.

Best in Class
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Uniden R3 is the gold standard of radar detectors for a reason. It is full featured and fully customizable. It dependably detects all the frequencies currently in use and can be customized to turn off the annoying false alarms for your area. It's easy to set up and use. You can literally just take from the box, put it on your windshield, plug it in and go. The range is good and the sounds are distinct. It will detect traffic light cameras and speed signs. It will pick up signals that come from behind. I could not be happier with this unit. For a full set up guide, look up Vortex Radar on YouTube.

Uniden R3 has already paid its way into my car
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the R3 for about a month now. I was previously using a Whistler CR90 in the same vehicle and i own a Beltronics RX65 in my other vehicle. The Uniden alerts are coming through about 40-50 yards ahead of where my CR90 used to. I like the fact that this unit has "quiet mode" to silence alerts when driving at a set speed and mute memory which will auto mute certain frequencies that have been "marked". I took a trip last week and while driving up a hill on the interstate my radar went off out of nowhere. i looked around didnt see anything, i let off the gas from doing about 20 over the limit and just as my truck got to about 6 miles over limit when i got to the top of the hill there was a MS. State trooper sitting and clocking. Easily would have resulted in a ticket as i was certainly speeding midway through an 8hr drive. this unit has already paid for itself. there are tons of customizable features so you kind of have to pick your preference at that point which is what makes the ease of a little timely to get the hang of. overall, the range support is very good. i still think my Beltronics edges this one in range, but the radar signal view is what wins for me. also dont disregard the X band, ive come up on Sheriff vehicles that still use the low X band because of its range. i use full band even in city and since i can mark to mute certain frequencies im not fully annoyed with it ringing. id rather hear the alert than see the blue lights.

Uniden-R3BLK Great equipment!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't usually write reviews, but this product truly surprised me. I've used various radar detectors for over 30 years, and they were always confusing with the signals they emitted. In this case, during a trip between Miami and Fort Myers, this device saved me from at least two speeding tickets. Great product! I highly recommend it!!

Best radar detector for the price!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used many different radar detectors and I've made multiple searches and hadn't figure out what are the exact differences between cheap and very expensive radar detectors. Finally I've found a good video that the guy tested a $600 Escort, Uniden R3 and a cheap Cobra. This one detects the radar a little before Escort does and doesn't give any false alarms like cheap Cobra does. After watching that video I purchased one Uniden R3 for all my cars. I've been very happy and if you read this review don't look no more lol.

LIFESAVERR!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in 2024, and i've had my R3 for about a year and a half now. When I say this is the BEST investment I've ever done- I MEAN IT!! This thing has saved me from SO many speeding tickets. There's also a newer generation (R4) is also avail at a similar price point with some hardware tweaks- so look at that. Also I recommend buying a seperate extension cord to run the wire behind your car panels so you won't have a dangly wire in your face or a tell tale to cops that says "I have a Radar!"

Great Detector
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used an older Escort model for many years and decided to upgrade, after studying the myriad of options and reviews I decided to purchase the R-3. So far I have been pleased with the results and range. It is superior to the older model I was using previously and I am glad I decided to upgrade. IT has several useful features, I like the user mark function using GPS, as well as the vocal alerts to the type of signal detected.

AWESOME!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hands down, the best detector on the market. Coming from the V1 gen1, the range on this thing is awesome. City mode is my favorite setting because Ka is still at max sensitivity but it dials back K and X (neither which I encounter in my daily driving). Tweeking low speed muting, using City mode, along with the BSM filter, this detector is top-notch. Vortex Radar is a good source of info and test results...see for yourself!!!

Beats out the others
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the R3 for over a year. Wow this thing has good range! The GPS memory is solid and eliminates a lot of K signals all over town. It has plenty of memory space to store locations. The customizable alerts are a big plus. GPS speed indication is a benefit since my speedo is off due to oversize tires. The mount could be more robust. It broke after a year due to vibration fatigue. I found a better mount on Amazon though. Reading/watching reviews the R3 is just as good as the R7 just with a couple less features but at a much better price point. I would definitely recommend!
