Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the R3 DSP Long Range Radar and Laser Detector, particularly its impressive range, performance comparable to the R7, and comprehensive radar detection capabilities. Many find it accurate and easy to use, especially considering the price. While false alarms are a concern for some, the device's GPS functionality and other features are appreciated, and the display is easy to read. The size is also seen as an improvement over the R7.

The R3 is the best radar detector available. Same performance as the R7 if you can do without the arrows. 200$ cheaper and less bulky than the R7.

Well worth the money. Picks up police radar from far away, gives you plenty of time to slow down.

Amazing accuracy for under $500, this radar detector can almost see into the future. So much better than my cheaper one. Well worth the extra money.

Works well. I've been using Escort for years and first Uniden unit and I like it. Its a major upgrade from my previous one so it provides additional detections such as MRCD. While not sold as a 360 degree unit it does pick up Ka signals from behind me.

Made a one-way trip across the country. Highway mode alerted me miles prior to actually seeing any speed trap. When it goes off within the next 5 minutes, you'll find out why it went off. Way better than my old cobra.

Best radar detector for the money. Very long range. Easy mounting options. Check out Vortex Radar, he is a pro when it comes to radar detectors. He will show you how to set it up properly. Only downfall is the false alerts from Hondas, Acuras, and some Chryslers. These alerts come from their Blind Spot Monitoring Systems. You will quickly learn the false alert and it becomes second nature to ignore them. I do not drive excessively fast, but it has certainly already paid for itself. The range is so good that I have plenty of time to slow to the speed limit before getting close enough for LEO to identify my speed. Buy now!

This thing has saved me from many tickets. I can’t believe how far pout it will pick up a radar. Once you have used it a little while you truly know how it works and notice how far off it will alert your to a potential speeding ticket. It also has gps that you can mark spots where police may be sitting and it will give you an alert anytime you are near that spot again. You can do this for many spots and it will remember them all for you.

I drove around for years with an older Escort Passport, and didn't know how in the dark ages I was until I got this R3. Range? Incredible. In upstate NY, state police drive around with Ka band on full blast. This Uniden sniffs them out around corners and over hills so well that I assumed it was giving false positives for awhile. False alerts? Next to none. Uniden seems like a committed company to its customers with regular, free updates, that include more filtering abilities. And if there is a false alert, its very easy to mark as such by double clicking the Mute/Dim button.

This is my first radar detector and I was pleased with the purchase. We decided to buy this since we wanted one on our month long road trip and this did not disappoint. We did get a few false alerts and I think it would pick up signals from other vehicles having radar detectors, but it also correctly alerted us to not only cops and speed detectors, but also picked up oncoming cops from the opposite side of the traffic. We concluded our trip without any violations.

Good product, price worth every penny, my 1st trip, it is captured 2 hidden police cruisers. it helps you maintain your speed as well. At least when radar detects you have a time to check your speed and continue your travel.

Very happy with this product. I had an older, cheaper model and just replaced this and used on a trip from Raleigh, NC to Tampa FL and back and it was just amazing. Picked up every cop, hardly any times could I not find what it was signaling, and the temp mute on the plug is very handy. I also like how initial beeps are loud then immediately softens so it gets my attention but does not annoy the crap out of me. Great buy.

This was my first Radar Detector, honestly don’t have any complaints, I’ve had it for a few months now and it’s saved my @$$ more times than I can count. Picks up state troops and sheriffs very well, small town cops you have less of a warning because their k band signal isn’t as strong.

It’s a great radar detector and the range is very very solid with minimal false alerts. If you get a KA hit you know there is law enforcement somewhere near by. The only thing I’m bugged about is the return policy. I did want to return it because I wanted to get the best of the best so I bought an escort redline 360C and I was going to return the uniden but I was two days outside the return policy. Kinda bugged and it doesn’t get any hits on KSL

Works well and indicates cops with a radar from prett far away and over hills. First I bought and its really good. It does get annoying when it detects store motion sensors for the automatic opening doors but even then, it's still great.
