Customers admire the picture quality, ease of use, and price of this 70" Vizio TV. Many also appreciate the 4K resolution and the convenience of Chromecast. However, some users find the remote control and smart features to be less than satisfactory. The lack of a built-in tuner is also a point of concern for some customers.

Good TV Not Smart
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good tv, picture, etc. very disappointed that it is online yet you have to use chrome cast instead of having Netflix etc pre loaded on the TV. If you want a smart tv, this is not it.

Great TV - Good quality in a large size
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BIG TV. Takes two people to set up. Ignore where the instructions tell you to set the TV flat to install the legs. Instead have the second person hold the TV upright while you lift up the TV a bit to slide each leg in from the bottom. Picture is great. Sound is great. I did not have an issue with the phone app at all. Vizio must have updated the app since the bad reviews about the app that I read. This turned out to be the best TV that we have ever purchase. 70" of 4K home theater greatness!!

Great TV at an awesome price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture with decent sound. At 1549 dollars, you can't find anything this size even close to this price. The setup was a bit confusing so I had to actually read the manual.

Good clear picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are using the screens to run digital loops from our production company. The screen is large? The colors are true and the screen has clean lines. We don't typically run sound - it's more for display. A good buy for the purpose.

Bad all around
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish there was something good to say about this TV or the Best Buy experience but there really isn’t. Firstly the TV was bad out of the box with a ripple in the screen, you can only see it on bright scenes but it is there and goes about a third of the way across the screen. So electronics can be bad no big deal, it happens. So I call Best Buy and they have 2 choices for me. Bring it back to the store (It’s a 70 inch TV. It’s over 5ft wide!! I had it delivered because it is so large) Should I just fold it in half throw it in the car and bring it back? Or I can go to Vizio. That’s it. That was there total commitment to the purchase. As I can’t fit a TV this size in my car I called Vizio. Vizio will make you jump through hoops to prove the TV is defective and you will need to install Smartcast to do this (something I really did not want to do, but more on that later) but after multiple phone calls they are agreeing to replace the TV and I will have a new one in about 2 weeks. Luckily my TV is still watchable, I might be more upset if it was dead and they said we will replace that brand new TV you just bought that was bad out of the box in a couple of weeks. But still I am getting a replacement but that is terrible turnaround time. Lastly Smartcast. This is the only way to configure the TV, but it’s this cool app that lets you stream everything to your TV. And it does sound cool until you go to install it and see what they want access to on your phone. Really all they need is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and maybe your media files. However they also want your identity, your location your device id and you call information!!! Why does Vizio need access to my call information for me to control my TV? Track your customers much? If you don’t agree to this then you cannot install the app and cannot configure your TV. I had to find an old tablet to put it on. The whole experience was bad, the smartcast being the worst.

Great TV when it was working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased this TV four days ago. Worked great for three days. On the fourth day the screen went black and never came back on. I called Vizio and walked through the troubleshooting script with them. No luck so I was told they could get someone out to me in a week or two or for a faster resolution I should box up my TV and take it back to the store. I then called the warranty company associated with the store since I purchased a warranty through them. I was told a diagnostic tech would come out in a few days and assess the situation. The tech on the phone told me if they could not fix it and had to replace it they where not sure how long the replacement would take. I will be returning the TV tomorrow.

Don't Buy!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, let me say that I read as many reviews as I could on this model and most were good. When I first started having issues I though I was unlucky and got a bad unit. But 3 units later, I say BUYER BEWARE! I got this TV last year when it was a new model. I wanted a different model but the Best Buy manager sold me this one as the older models price. Best Buy was awesome during this transaction. Vizio- not so much. First the HDMi board started going out. Only one of them worked. The rest would not get a signal when an HDMI was plugged in and the others would Black out the screen every 3-5 seconds. Vizio cs sent someone out to replace the hdmi ports and 3 days later the same thing happened. So are talking to a few ppl at vizio for an hour or so they finally agreed to send out a "New" model. Only to find out it was a refurbished model and had its own flaws. This time the hdmi didn't worked out of the box. So after another call to vizio and another 90 mins or so later they sent another model. Again said it would be new and it wasn't. At this point I didn't care enough to keep spending time arguing with why they didn't send out new units. Then yesterday we had friends over for a cook out and we go to watch some 4K videos via a different HDMi port and the exact issue keeps happening. I'll be calling vizio tomorrow and if they don't send out a new unit I'll be taking further actions.

If the low price tempts you...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked the TV except for the SmartCast app which didn't work well on an iPhone or the Android we tried. It was probably rushed to market before it was ready. Range for the remote was insufficient. The remote only has six or seven buttons--all advanced features are controlled through the aforementioned fickle app. Then my power supply died 32 days after purchase--no exchange possible, only service. After two weeks I found out they don't make the replacement part so I eventually did get a replacement (Samsung) for more $$$.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback on the all-new VIZIO SmartCast™ E70U-D3. We recently made changes to the product setup experience in order to make it easier and more intuitive. VIZIO SmartCast™ products are controlled using an application instead of a traditional remote. This means that any VIZIO SmartCast™ device can be controlled using most smartphones and tablets. Because VIZIO SmartCast™ puts control of the display into your mobile device, we’re now able to make updates much faster and more frequently, right to your VIZIO SmartCast™ app. We're sorry to hear you've experienced some issues. This is not a typical VIZIO experience. We realize this is brand new technology and it takes some time to get used to it and hope you consider VIZIO again in the future. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to our Support team at 844.254.8088. -Jesse

LEDs went out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV was great for the first year and a half. Crisp, clean picture. After a year and a half, the TV started a blueish tint and very dark. It's amazing that after less than 2 years my $1,600 TV is starting to go out.
