My drive was DOA. I tested on multiple computers and had I/O errors and could not initialize it. Not sure I want to take a chance on another one.

Although this drive was recognized by my computer, it would not initialize and format utilizing windows disk management. I discussed the failure to initialize with WD support. I was required to send a photo of the already installed drive even though I had the serial # from the box, before they would give advice on the installation. They were helpful thereafter and indicated that it was a bad drive and suggested returning it to Best Buy which I did. I purchased a Toshiba X300 8TB and it installed and formatted on the same computer with the same cables with no problems.

Has worked well and was a good replacement for my dead drives. I appreciate the good space options for this and might buy another one for my second hard drive.

    Never again.

1st drive clicks every 5 seconds. It is strong enough to feel the vibration through the case. Sent back under warranty and received a new one. 2nd drive. Still clicks every 5 seconds....Read about it and seems like it is the "normal" function of the drive due to their WLT (wear-leveling technology). Now that I have done the RMA and am past the date they will not take it back. They said they pushed my case to "priority" and I would hear back within 3 days. So far it has been over 8 and no response through email or calls. I won't ever buy a WD product again
