    HD is very average and doing nothing beyond what the previous Western Digital HD, that was 10 years old, did. If anything, I can hear it running much more than the older one and I haven't installed any new programs since the installation. My assessment: Its fair for the price and doing its job. But that's about it.

    Have 2 in each of the Vantech and Orico external enclosures set as Raid 1 (mirror ) to store music in our small hobby radio station Just remember they are not plug and play you must initialize and partition them And make sure the fans are working If they as any other drive can be damaged from excessive temperatures (Orico's are notorious for fan failures !) WDs are a old company they can be trusted .

    Western Digital makes some very good drives. The Blue series drives is a fast drive for a great price. Although the warranty isn't as good as WD's Black drives, the lower price point makes up for it.
