You get what you pay for. I just needed a 1TB drive for a media center PC, so this was perfect. Didn't need gaming quality performance, just a lot of storage space for a reasonable price.

Recently upgraded my wife's computer with new motherboard and Win 10 on SSD. Planned to use her old hard drive as a data drive but because had Win 7 on it, refused to boot with competing operating systems. Got this drive to make a pure data drive, transferring over only data. Programs are installed on the SSD. As I decided between WD and Seagate, the like priced Seagate had a slower transfer rate.

The mainstream line of Western Digital hard drives is a combination of the blue label hard drives for capacities up to 1TB and green label hard drives over 1TB. The blue drives have declined in quality over the years and Western Digital has also reduced the warranty period on the drives. They are still an acceptable alternative to Seagate, which have really really declined in quality. I have found the green label drives to be too unreliable for anything other than redundant backup copies of data, so don't replace your primary hard drive with a mainstream drive, spend the extra money and use the performance (black label) drives from Western Digital instead.

WD makes very good products and this hard drive is no different. So far no issues.

Easy to install But the cloning is limited. I really liked the old Ghost Cloning.
