This was another purchase I made as part of my custom PC Build. This is not the best hard drive you can purchase but you can't beat what you get for the cost. This unit is fast and stable and 1TB will be more than enough storage for most users. In my opinion this unit will work flawlessly for the majority of people that purchase one.

This hard drive was the easiest install I have ever performed. The cloning of my existing hard drive took 45 minutes and booted up perfectly after I switched it out. My desktop has sped up at least 50% due to the new hard drive.

I love this HD because is fast is silent and Whit a big capacity.

Don't let others tell you that the black version of this HDD is better, they have the same exact specs and the blue drove of this size works just as well for a lot less. It's an excellent drive, fast and reliable.

Excellent for mass storage for cheap. Not specifically fast, but reliable.

upgraded kids desktop 3 yrs old not enough space for kids games and homework had a second bay to add storage hope to buy few years out of this computer. Best Buy geek squad in Silverdale did a great job and got it done quicker than I expected been happy with their service now over year hoping to have no issues with this brand

Its a basic 7200rpm hdd so did not expect it to fast and since I using it to store music and install some games on it I really don't mind the speed and 1tb is more than enough overall great and reliable hdd.

I upgraded my desktop computer with this drive and it runs faster and smoother. It has 1 TB of storage, enough for all my school works, pictures and videos.

Had to buy replace my old 8 year old hard drive that was shot. Got this drive for $45 and for the price I can't complain. Had no issue with putting a fresh install of window on it.

I've had multiple of these hard drives and I would recommend them for any computer. They are decently fast and Western Digital have a very low hard drive failure rate, an amazing deal for the price you pay

I had a hard drive crash and decided to upgrade a little bit. I doubled my hard drive and the ram. All went well. The hard drive installed quickly and easily.

I got this one to replace a Seagate hybrid drive that failed. I'm using this for my main boot drive, the hybrid speeds were inconsistent, which messed with my game and video streaming performance. This Western Digital drive has a lower peak speed rating, but is able to maintain that speed, and doesn't slow down on long sustained data bursts like video processing or heavy graphics games. This is also a 3.5" drive as apposed to the 2.5". The smaller drive couldn't handle the heat my desktop machine produced when one of my 3 case fans failed. (I replaced the fan as well) There are 5 other drives in this case, all larger Western Digitals, they all handled this temporary heat problem fine.

It is a good value as a replacement drive. The software from Western Digital that allowed you to clone the drive is excellent. Easy to use.

For HDDs I tell anyone who asks just get a Western digital. The mainstream is a 7200rpm blue which is a great allrounder HDD. I have been using the 2x I own for playing 90s-2015 era AAA games and indie games with hardly any load times. I suggest a WD black drive if you want to play games with longer load times. The WD Mainstream drives are a beast and should last 5+ years without any issue. Just make sure you get the 7200rpm one if you want to use these for gaming. Western Digital makes a 5400rpm version as well to check the spec.

Got this hard drive for my son's computer that was running out of space. Easily transferred the info from old drive to new using manufacturers software from online. Has been working seamlessly for a couple months now.

It's hard to believe that a 1TB drive could be this inexpensive. I've been a user of WD drives since 1989. They have always been solid performers.

This 1 TB WD Mainstream internal Serial ATA hard drive IS awesome. Faste. Data transfer rates up to 6 Gbps for fast performance. The 1TB capacity offers ample space for storing music, movies and more.

I needed a hard drive with lots of space and this was just right for the job. It was easy to transfer my data and booth right up.

I'd been loyal to Seagate for years, but they hit a real rough spot in terms of reliability starting in 2014 thanks to environmental problems in their Thailand factory. Last month, both of my Seagate 1TB drives in my RAID1 array failed within a few weeks of each other and that was enough for me to say never again and go with a different brand. Note that I did put this in a Synology NAS. Western Digital recommends the "Red" line for this, which I assume has a longer MTBF. So while this drive may fail a bit sooner than ideal, thanks to having RAID1 w/ cheap cloud backup to Amazon S3 I'm not too concerned about that. At $40 for a TB, the price is right.

It was super simple to install. It was basically plug and play. Once plugged in just a few clicks and had everything all set up. Great product for the price. 10/10
