Great harddrive and works like a charm. I always buy WD brand because they are very realiable and last a long time. I have tried other brands like Seagate, Omega, Samsung, Toshiba but I buy WD the most.

I generally purchase Western Digital hard drives if I'm going to buy a new drive. Almost every computer I buy has WD drives in them, so to me, it only makes sense to buy a Western Digital hard drive, either for a desktop replacement drive or an extra usb drive.

My initial experience is very good. The hard drive installed very easily after I cloned it from my old drive. It is quieter than my old drive. The capacity was more than enough for all my home videos and photos. The real question about these drives is how long they last before the unexpected failure.

I have not used this one yet, but I have used many western digital hard drives before. And have been pleased with them. So I'm sure this will be just fine. this one is on stand by.

took computer down on a Tuesday and when we got home had the call that it would be done in 2 days(our daughter was not happy). Wed morning we had a call that the computer is done (she was so happy it was done a day ahead of time (so were we). Went to pick it up-didn't wait in line got waited on right away-explained everything that they did with the hard drive

Purchased and worked (they was emergency replacements for a workstation). They worked. I put them in as a set of mirrored drives. I find WD drives to be more reliable and fail less often than some other brands(I won't mention any other brands, like ones that start with the letter 'S').

I am getting back into astrophotography and it uses up disk space fast. My 240GB SSD main file system was no match for it. This drive was inexpensive and fast. I put it into my linux system and formatted it at EXT4 and it came up and ran with no problems.

Good performance and capacity. I am running it as the primary boot disk with Linux Mint 18 and grub boot selector. Also still running windows XP on a separate disk. I need both Linux & XP on this machine. I have win 7 on another box. Still not impressed with win10.

Needed to replace a client's dying hard drive in a hurry (no time to wait for delivery) - went to my neighborhood Best Buy and had them up and running that afternoon. Good performance, excellent reputation for reliability, and reasonably priced.

seems to be working fine, though I have not had much chance to really use it a lot, at least the computer has not gone to a blue or black screen as it was before. somewhat of a hassle to reload stuff and some could not be saved or reloaded so it is gone. also did not load/transfer email contacts list without having to do some weird stuff & the list doesn't work for all the addresses but at least they can be found

My nephew recommended that I replace my old hard drive in my computer. We went to Best Buy and he chose this one. It is a great product and was on sale at the time! He backed everything up and installed this a month ago - no problems at all! One TB - I have so much more storage now!!

Good hdd for the price but still having a small problem where after a restart the pc acts like the hdd isnt given permissions I don't know if that is a problem with the drive or the pc but just keep it in mind.

Installation was easy. Worked without any problems. Need to update the web address on the instructions.

So far no complaints and no issues with this product. WD have always been known for its reliability and this product is no exception. My current setup: ssd for windows and applications and this hdd for all my games and documents.

Needed to replace my desktop PC’s HD... since I had a WD in it previously it was a no brainer to keep with a WD HD. The old one lasted 6 plus years of stead to hard use. Solid tech product

I found this hard drive to be a plug N play device. I have a HP with Core I 5 3330 chip that had a bad hard drive. I had no issue with the Bios software recognizing this hard drive. I loaded Linux Mint 17 and it is working like a charm. I liked that even Linux was easy to load in!

This was purchased to replace the original system hard drive. Being 5 years newer and having double the original cache, performance improvement was quite noticeable. The drive being replace began sounding like the bearing were wearing out. Proactive replacement went very smoothly.
