This drive is exactly what I needed to back up a volume on my NAS drive. Formatted easily and works like a charm. It was also an excellent value.

This was purchased as a replacement for a external desktop drive starting to fail... (5 to 8 yrs old).... I managed to see this unit on sale under $50.00 so i snapped it up. The installation internally presented no issues.

I purchased this drive to use in a video recorder system to store video data from cameras mounted around my home. The drive plugged into the system and the system recognized it immediately and formatted it and is now storing video data which I am able to view over my local network. It works great!

Even though the spin rate is the low 5200 RPM, I think it performs well. Never a hiccup in the time I have had it. As someone in the I.T. World the best Tech is the Tech you never have to pay attention to.

I haven't had to buy a new hard drive in a while so I got this in a pinch. I haven't run it through any speed testing or anything like that so this review is really based on the fact that it hasn't broken down yet. Then again I've only had it for a couple months. It just works. It's doing its job.

These are my go-to drives. I've tried other brands when they've been on sale but overall Western Digital have given me the least amount of problems in the past 20 years that I've been installing hard drives. FYI, these DO NOT come with mounting screws or SATA cable. It's just the drive.

WD drive are my go to. The quality and value you get is amazing. These HD are built like tanks. They will last you years. And at a average price of $50 or so its a no brainer. I would recommend anyone who has a 1tb HD that is over 5 yrs old to maybe do a refresh with a new hd you will see a diff. Also its nice to use the old HD as a backup for personal data if needed.

For the price, Western Digital drives have always been a great value. I've had more issues with the cheaper Toshiba and Hitachi branded drives and the Seagate drives tend to be a little more expensive without any real change in quality from what I've encountered.

HDD in my Dell Studio XPS had some disk errors that could not be repaired using software. It's an older machine but still serviceable. Installed this as a replacement drive. Plenty of storage capacity for my needs on this machine.

Long are the days when a 1TB hard drive cost you 500.00. Its 2019 and almost all 1TB internal hard drives are the same assuming the company producing them are reputable. Therefore, I look for the best price and this hard drive was a great deal

Western Digital is the only mechanical HDD I use. 1tb for this price is a no brainier! Durable drive that I wont have to worry about. Ive got some that have been running daily for over 3yrs, no prob. Cant say the same for some other brands (I'm looking at you Seagate....)

As a secondary storage drive and for the price this works wonders. Was easy to install and set up and added a great deal of space for the kids computer. I have purchased many WD HDDs in my time and always had great results.

When I brought in my computer, The Geek Squad techs told me the problem was my old hard drive was failing. Since I am a Geek Squad Member now, I only had to pay for the hard drive and it was installed by a tech for no charge. It seems to be working great.

A Geek Squad technician installed a WD hard drive in my desktop computer after my device's original hard drive had failed. Since then, the WD drive has worked flawlessly. System performance speeds have also increased. I would definitely recommend this product.
