I had a much smaller hard drive which I had filled up. This holds all of my music, movies, school work and I still have quite a bit of space. I do play some games but nothing too extreme, so far this works well.

I was originally going to get a larger ssd because I was nervous that a hard drive wouldn't be fast enough for my use. Hesitantly I went for it, and was pleasantly surprised with how well it held up with my gaming.

Fast and quiet. I use this to store some files. Overall would buy again

WD - Mainstream 1TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for Desktops... This hard drive saved my wife's new computer (not purchased at B.Buy...my mistake), whos drive crashed within a yr. It works like a charm!

WD drives have never let me down. True, they do quit after years of use like any drive, but I think they are the best drive out there. This installed and worked perfectly and I know it will last.

Never had problems with WD drives past or present. Blue and Mainstream seem to be the same drive and they do what they claim. 3 builds with these specific drives and on 2 they're the main drive and preform exactly how they're suppose to. They're not the fastest but if you want fastest you wont be buying HDD. You'd buy SSD.

My most used Hard Drive in my builds. Not as fast as an SSD, but fast enough to be your main drive. Most of the time I install this as my fast storage drive. 7200 RPM and solid quality make it a great buy.

After having problems with my Desktop hp comp. I had a new WD Mainstream 1TB Intenal serial ATA Hard Drive. Installed .It' works great now . But since its only been a couple of months I didn't give it 5 stars .Only because my fitth star would be on product usage at which time it's to soon to rate it But over all its working like new .

Geek squad replaced my original hard drive in my Lenovo I bought at Best Buy. They reset all my files with Carbonite and got the system back up and running great. This new hard drive is operating well

My PC hard drive burnt out and I was in dire need of a replacement. The WD-Mainstream 1TB Hard Drive replaced my burnt hard drive and the performance of my PC now is excellent and better than it was when I had first purchased my PC.

Great price for the storage size. I have several of these that have been very reliable.

My WD-Mainstream drive was actually a WD Blue, a version which provides WD Black performance with a rotation speed of 7200. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Mainstream hard drives are still around because they are an inexpensive option when you need storage space. They are slower than SSDs but if you have a couple hundred gigs of pictures and you plan to add more, they are a better call than the smaller SSDs. Western Digital is the best name in hard drives IMO.

Great purchase, needed to replace hard drive in an older TIVO box; installed it & it worked like a charm! Also able to fast forward 30% faster on DVR recorded tv shows.

I picked this up to install in a USB external drive unit to use as a back-up device for my critical files. I needed a fairly high capacity storage and this fit my needs. It has been working well.

So far no complaints and no issues with this product. WD have always been known for its reliability and this product is no exception. My current setup: ssd for windows and applications and this hdd for all my games and documents.
