Installed this drive as a second drive on my 7 year old PC with Windows 7. Had no problems with installation or assigning a drive letter to it. So far I've installed about 400 gb of GOG.com games on the drive. Games play well off the drive with no lag or glitches. Extremely happy with it as of the present.

Very quiet. Easy to install and setup. Great price.

Need a quick fix to a server and was able to easily and quickly pop this drive in and was up and running in no time. Thus far, it has been rock solid so I am very happy about that as well as the price I paid for it. I feel comfortable recommending this product to others.

This hardrive was used to replace a smaller drive and to make space for a windows 10 upgrade. The drive performs well is quiet and runs at a lower temperature range than the older drive. It is perfect for a business computer where a tremendous amount of space is not necessary but has plenty of space for local documents ect.

Purchased to replace a HP provided SATA Hard Drive for my desktop computer with two hard drives for RAID 1 protection from data loss. (Look up RAID 1 vs RAID 0 if you are not familiar with dual drive systems.) One of the mirrored drives had failed so I purchased this drive and had the Geek Squad install it to replace the identical WD drive that failed. The dual drive RAID 1 avoided data loss that might have resulted with the failed drive and the expert Geek Squad tech was able to install the new drive and restore the RAID 1 protection. Newer computers have solid state drives (but don't offer the same storage capacity), but since they are not mechanical, there is little risk of failure as with older mechanical drives.

Replace one of my business desktop drives with this one. Works just fine. Great price, easy install.

Nothing but good things to say about Western Digital drives. Have always performed well and usually priced right. This was a replacement drive for an original drive that came in a desktop. The original drive has had problems off and on for a while and it was time to replace it with a new unit. Very pleased !!

It appears that Western Digital is now just relabeling WD Blue drives as "Mainstream" to fulfill inventory, because every drive on the shelf in this spot was a WD Blue with a new UPC stuck over the old UPC to indicate these are "Mainstream" drives. It was actually cheaper to buy this WD Blue at my local Best Buy than anywhere else online! Great deal. My only concern with this drive is every time it wakes up from sleep or powers on, the drive RPM spins up like crazy for several seconds. Interestingly, it only does it at start-up or waking from sleep, which I'm told is normal behavior? *Shrugs*

Had the G.S. install for me, did a great job. Works flawlessly. Oh and even recognized that I had got one for a lap top not a pc and made the correction, painless and on time! Norman OK. these guys and girls are on point.

I purchased this hard drive to replace a Seagate drive that went bad in my mom's desktop. It was an older Dell.. This hard drive was an upgrade since it is a 1 tb drive. Works great.. I am pleased with the drive & prefer Western Digital products over Seagate any day!

WD drive are my go to. The quality and value you get is amazing. These HD are built like tanks. They will last you years. And at a average price of $50 or so its a no brainer. I would recommend anyone who has a 1tb HD that is over 5 yrs old to maybe do a refresh with a new hd you will see a diff. Also its nice to use the old HD as a backup for personal data if needed.

Purchased this drive as a replacement for my son's computer. It was easy to install and boots the system pretty quickly after installing Windows back on it. The drive is relatively quiet for a platter drive. Overall impression of this drive is that it is well worth the money!

Perfect! Solid! Installed and immediately worked. I had no problems at all. Very solid item. No difficulties to install. My computer had crashed as soon as I swapped for the broken one, system was up and running

As a secondary storage drive and for the price this works wonders. Was easy to install and set up and added a great deal of space for the kids computer. I have purchased many WD HDDs in my time and always had great results.

I work IT for several businesses. I had a desktop that was not under warranty with a bad HDD. The price was better than most, and the fact that I could pick it up same day, made it a better choice than online, the client needed to be back up ASAP. Drive installed without a hitch, so far so good.

Easy to install and good value for the price tag. If you don’t need a crazy amount of storage, this is for you.

Only time will tell if a hard drive is a good one, unless it's a DOA, but I don't recall ever getting one of those. Bought this drive to replace a 320GB that got too small, and the installation was painless. Used my own copy of Acronis True Image to create a drive image onto the new drive using a second SATA cable, pulled the old drive out, buttoned up the computer, and smooth sailing so far. Plenty of room now, and the new drive is faster.

I purchased this HDD to replace the original one that came with my computer with a clean install of Windows10. Everything worked smoothly and flawlessly. The drive is quiet and fast. Western Digital usually makes pretty good drives, and this one seems like another winner.

Using this as a additional drive for storage and have installed an operating system on it. I like a drive that is quiet and this one fits the bill. I am very pleased with its speed as I use it for photo storage and occasionally boot the computer from it. WD has an excellent product in this drive.
