Your standard Caviar Blue drive from Western Digital. Nothing special, 7200rpm and fits in a 3.5" slot. Games load fairly fast and Windows 7 boots in about 15 seconds if not less. Personally, the gains from a dedicated SSD do not validate the cost just yet. The quality of mechanical drives, their capacity, and price still make it the best option. Would recommend.

I bought this to replace the drive that came with my computer that failed. It was easy to install and has been working great for me.

Had a computer that was running very slow and Blue Screening recently. Did a lot of clean up and defraging that didn't help any... Diagnostics showed imminent HD failure. So instead waiting until the point of no return. I went ahead and purchased this drive, cloned it and all is well!!

This Western Digital hard drive has been recording constantly in a security system for over 6 months without a hint of trouble. While this hard drive is not rated to be used in a home security system, it has proven to be capable of handling the continuous recording that the security system requires. I am very pleased with the price I paid and the value I have received.

So these drives have not had enough run time to really know how they stack up. They are used stricly for data storage and not primary drives. Being WD drives I have some faith in them considering they share a motherboard with one of there grandparents (another WD drive that's been churning for 10 years), that's prehistoric in HDD years.
