Good drive but not a typical installation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Now that its working it's just as good as any other hard drive that I've owned. I've had many WDs in the past and I was replacing a 320 MB WD hard drive with this 1 TB drive but this is the first time the computer would not find new hardware. It did not recognize it. Had me scratching my head for awhile until I Googled the problem and got a solution. Ended up in disk management and had to give the drive a drive letter and tell the computer what was there. Works fine now.

Easy to install and program
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been looking for a hard drive to replace my failing hard drive so I bought this one as it included cloning software with it. Unfortunately my other hard drive completely failed before I could install the new drive. I removed the old drive, bought windows 10 and installed both with no problems.

Good and Reliable

I bought this because my 8 yr old Samsung hdd finally died and this replaced it, works as it should, would recommend a ssd for games and os tho, or grab a WD black drive for games, but this does the job, BF4 and BF1 loads in at right around 45-60 seconds

Speedy transfer for a Hard disk drive

Its a good value for an above average quality drive. While its not as fast as SSDs in read and write times, the transfer rate is very adequate for the price point.

A perfect fit!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When the hard drive crashed in my Gateway desktop PC, this was the perfect replacement: same physical size, same storage capacity, same brand, which made for a smooth recovery, and my Gateway is back up and running. Western Digital's Tech support was terrific when I asked for help in recovering the PC.

(5 to 8 yrs old).... I managed to see this unit on sale under $50.00 so i snapped it up. The installation internally presented no issues.
