Although many are moving to SSD there is a dirty little secret- SSD can only be written and read a fixed number of times before problems start. There are algorithms in how the data is stored that change write locations so this is not a big problem, but it requires you to keep a good deal of your SSD open. Easy answer is to drop in a HDD such as this one and keep your large files there freeing up SSD to handle your OS and applications. I like to use two HDDs so the important files can be in two places.

This unit worked great! I was able to quickly install it in my PC to replace my original one (an inferior brand!) that wore out. I simply restored my files from a backup image to this new drive!

Excellent reliable replacement drive. Ive had many seagate drives die over the years. my last seagate just died, and this is the replacement. Speed is very good for an entry level drive.

Great product for the price. It is quiet and hasn't had a single problem yet. Granted I only store video captures of video games on it, but I have no complaints to speak of.

Western Digital is known for quality. This drive is fast and quality. Always try to buy WD drives. They last.

When you love PC games and have the option to download your favorite selections from your streaming service this is the drive to have. Big, fast and affordable!

Works great still running fine a quiet. The only problem I had was that it didn't come with any drive bay attachments so I had to just screw it to the side of my case. Other than that it works fine.

Used to upgrade storage capacity in an old Dell Optiplex small form factor desktop. Works good. Would have preferred SSD, but this was perfect for the budget.

If your looking for a cheap hard drive to put in an enclosure or just for a old pc that you have to have replaced this is a good hard drive just for that.

Replaced the drive in dell all in one with WD mainstream 1 Tb. Very pleased with drive, fit perfectly with no problems . Will purchase again for another all in one I'm about to fix.

So far so good! My computer crashed so I needed a new hard drive. My husband was able to install it without any difficulty and it was up and running in no time. I haven't had any problems with it.
