I purchased this because I was looking for a faster boot drive than the one I had. I realized after the fact that I purchased the wrong connection ( I needed ATA as opposed to SATA) so had to take it back. Hence the "Average" rating....

Very noisy as soon as it was installed. Sounds like it is ready to fail but has been working fine for about 1 month. I won't be storing anything I value on this drive because, based on the noise, I expect it to fail anytime now.

We bought this to replace a crashed drive on a p.c using windows 7.

Does the job as intended. Would recommend for a replacement drive.

I gave this only two stars because when I installed it, It didn't work. I returned it back to the store. I told my helper at the store what I was going to use it for, but like many associates in stores, he didn't know what he was talking about. I went to another BB store and was able to speak with another associate that knew what he was talking about and told me what the problem was. I still buy WD products because they are good and will last. I would still recommend this to a friend and let him know about the right WD for what he or she will be using it for.

Installed in my computer works very fast. I am very pleased.

Can't complain. It isn't as fast as an SSD (duh) for the the price, I have a great 1TB hard drive that was inexpensive and functional.

My hard drive died in my computer. I thought this would be a good replacement. Performance doesn't seem to match the specs of the drive. I'm disappointed.

Good hard drive but just not super fast. I mostly just use to back up data. Just not the fastest thing around

I really cannot tell much about the product as it was only installed a few weeks ago. However the manager of the store has been rude and disrespectful every time I have been there..

Noticed a degradation of speed as compared with the failed original hd

I would have given this a higher rating if the drive we were replacing hadn't turned out to be something we fixed ourselves, meaning that we didn't see it as a step up - just keeping status quo.

Computer worked without problems for a week now is is shutting off without notice. I will take it back in for service.

Appears solid. Easy to install. Seems to run but unfortunately doesn't work.

This is a good product for the price but if you're looking for reliability I'd go with the western digital black. You'll spend a little more but it's worth the peace of mind.
