WD Blue. What can be said. Not my first choice or even my second choice for a drive, but when time, budget, and no other choices in 1TB platter drives are in the store, you do what you gotta do, so I held my nose and made a beeline for the checkout.

I would only suggest you use this hard drive to backup photos and other media. It is a very slow hard drive compared to solid state drives that are available. I would suggest putting your operating system on a SSD rather then this HD.

First drive died as I began copying files onto it. So it was a hassle having to remove it, go back to store, and exchange for another. But the second drive has been working like a champ for over a year now, knock on wood. I chalk the bad one up to bad luck, as WD drives have always been good to me before for years.

I have to give the HDD a little thump in order to get it to spin up. This is the second Western Digital HDD that I have had to take back. Last one was just dead.

most videos and backgrounds on all sites are much darker than previous hard drive. The best way I can describe it as very dark contrast. I'm not happy with it.

I installed the drive and tried to load a fully licensed copy of Win10, I purchased from Best Buy, but it wouldn’t load. I found out after more testing that the software wasn’t at fault( I exchanged it), it was the hard drive. When I returned it they noticed it had a sticker on it from the Geek Squad, with a persons name on it. They said somehow the boxes got switched and I was sold a used device.

Got this one on an emergency but is too slow for today's needs. Better get an SSD for $60

I regret getting this since the bigger one cost only a few bucks more... always look at the higher memories first.
