Tried this drive and the Seagate both were dead on arrival. System would not see the drives and they wouldn't even spin up. This is not Best Buy problem. They took good care of me in the returns and exchanges.

I believe the sales person recommended the wrong hhd for what I needed. Left for vacation and now time is up to return unit. Useless to me. Maybe unit defective when bought. $79.00 wasted. Not happy.

The drive was defected out of the package. After hooking it up, the drive would spin up several times with a loud whine and you could here the write arm bounce between the plattens.

WD Blue drives are meant to be a cheap drop-in replacement. This would be fine if they posted on the box that it is not an advanced format drive. I had to return it as it did not meet my requirements.

It worked for 4 days and has then started having issues. It's not showing bad blocks yet so manufacturer support isn't letting me return it yet. I'd avoid this one.

    The usual great WD quality

When ever I build a computer, I tend to use the same brands for each specific piece of hardware. For hard drives, I always use Western Digital. I have NEVER had a problem with their drives in general, and not with this drive specifically. I even still have a Dell that is 10+ years old with a WD drive and that computer is still in use and the hard drive is working great. I just put this 1TB in my last build, and it performs as expected and is quiet (I don't even here it while in use). I wish the price were a BIT cheaper, but that's not enough to deter me from buying it. It comes with a 2 year warranty to boot (ha, no pun intended). The WD black label drives are a little faster and come with a little longer warranty (and meant more for performance), and cost just a bit more, so if you are not gaming or need some sort of super lightning speed, this drive is great for general home or business use. I am about ready to build another computer for a friend, and will be buying this same drive for that one as well.

Best HDD drive for the money.

    1. For 1TB of storage it's reasonably priced. 2. It's the only Blue series drive that's 7200RPMs. 3. Almost of fast as the Black Series for almost half the price. 4. I never had one go bad(maybe I'm luvmcky, just saying). 5. If one did go bad it'd be inexpensive to replace. 6. If on a tight budget it'll get you by until you can get a high capacity SSD and the load times are acceptable though not great. Cons, 1. It doesn't have the warranty that the Black series has, but you get what you pay for. 2. It's not nearly as fast as an SSD and with SSD drives going down in price these are less practical for gaming. I'd say it's a great drive storage and entry level gaming. For the money I'd run 2 of them in a RAID 1 to protect my value data and it's cost effective considering they're inexpensive to replace.
