I have this drive, i dont reccomend it for the main drive to install windows, but good for storage. Other than that its good.

I used an external adapter to format the drive because my workstation didn't have the capability for adding a second drive. After formatting the drive I used the Acronis software to clone the old drive. I let it run overnight and in the morning it was ready to go. After a few tweaks it performed perfectly. I used Iobit Advanced System Care 8 to polish things a bit. All in all it was relatively painless.

I was needing a hard drive to go with my other parts for a budget computer I was building to put linux on and to play steam games. I was using a thumb drive before that. The price was right and the drive was a good size. I took a chance on it even after people have stated that they were having issues with HP and Maxtor dying on them right after buying them and using them. So far I have had no issues with the drive.

With all the hard disk space being required by all my photos and music and movies, etc. I decided to upgrade and add the WD - Mainstream 1TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive. I used the Geek Squad to install this for me at no additional cost using my annual Geek Squad service plan and it was well worth it. Saved me time and money-who could ask for anything more! I highly recommend this Hard Drive after using it for three months now.

This is a good, reliable hard drive that has pretty good performance. It's not worth getting the 1 TB WD Black drive because it's not much faster than the Blue. If you want to get a Black drive, only go for the 2 TB and up, but do note that they can be noisy. Instead, what I've done is get an SSD as my main drive, then use this mainstream 1 TB WD Blue for storage. Works pretty well.

I used this for a upgrade,because some programs I run uses alot of space such as Dazzle by Pinacle Studio and my 250GB had trouble with available space.So this what solved the problem.This has been installed for 4 years now and worked flawless.I like WD and will always use them.I will be building a new system,so I will buy another one for it.

Always buy WD drives. solid, fast, long lasting drives.

Very fast for a 5400 rpm hard drive. 175 to 180 Mb/s read/write speeds. Back in the day, 90 Mb/s was considered fast for a 7200 rpm hard drive. The 7200 rpm hard dives are about 200 to 220 Mb/s. That also is VERY fast. A good drive from a great company.

It's what it says it is. If you need to replace an internal hard drive for an older desktop computer, this is a cheap and easy way to do it.

When it comes to mechanical hard drives no one can beat Western Digital when it comes to quality. I purchase WD drives exclusively and will not touch other brands. I have some WD drives that are 10+ years old still work great. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few $$ on WD. It will pay off in the long run.

Easy to install and a good price for the capacity.

I checked online and saw that newegg had a better price on this product so I showed the employee and he price matched it for 49.99 and for that price for 1TB it's really cheap and good...my pc has now run even better and barely has any errors cause my last external drive was messed up.
