My PC hard drive burnt out and I was in dire need of a replacement. The WD-Mainstream 1TB Hard Drive replaced my burnt hard drive and the performance of my PC now is excellent and better than it was when I had first purchased my PC.

Geek squad replaced my original hard drive in my Lenovo I bought at Best Buy. They reset all my files with Carbonite and got the system back up and running great. This new hard drive is operating well

One month on, so far, so good. Easy to install, Windows discovered it right away, and now it keeps a system backup ready for me to use.

Bought to replace aging HD and it did not disapoint. Have used WD drives for years and never had one fail. This runs at 7200 rpm so pc does boot and opens apps a bit quicker. Can't beat the price for a good reliable drive.

So far no complaints and no issues with this product. WD have always been known for its reliability and this product is no exception. My current setup: ssd for windows and applications and this hdd for all my games and documents.

Mainstream hard drives are still around because they are an inexpensive option when you need storage space. They are slower than SSDs but if you have a couple hundred gigs of pictures and you plan to add more, they are a better call than the smaller SSDs. Western Digital is the best name in hard drives IMO.

I suppose to get a ssd but view the age of the pc and since i am not going to use for anything major. i decided on that HDD . And i am disappointed. Just use that pc as a comcast receiver instead to pay $9.95

I picked this up to install in a USB external drive unit to use as a back-up device for my critical files. I needed a fairly high capacity storage and this fit my needs. It has been working well.

It was a replacement and it was east to install and worked well.

My WD-Mainstream drive was actually a WD Blue, a version which provides WD Black performance with a rotation speed of 7200. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Using for document storage. If you need something to run high end programs or games, spend more and get faster (like a solid state drive). And remember to always back up cuz all drives can fail no matter what they cost.

It's a fast 7200 RPM hard drive. I've had no problems with it and it's great for games. Granted, it's not as fast as an SSD of course but as far as hard drives go you can't go wrong with this one.

New hard drive is working perfectly, was so thankful of this in replacing my old one. And grateful for the Geek Squad able to save all my documents, etc.

I just needed replacement drive for an older computer. Given the age of the machine, I wasn't looking for anything high performance or super reliable (a new drive implicitly carries an increase in reliability). After some work on it that counted as burn-in, I'm confident that the drive is totally functional in the way I expected.

When our business computer motherboard got smoked and needed placement, we took out the original hard drive(business records) and replaced with this new blank hard drive. Hooked right up with no problems.

The HDD does exactly as expected, and for the price, an easy choice. Initially the computer didn't recognize the extra drive, but by going into Computer Management and formatting the drive from Disk Management, everything was resolved. I would buy this again when I need more space.

The hard drive went out on my old computer which had been running slow anyway. Instead of replacing the computer, I got this new hard drive and upgraded to Windows 10. Now it's running faster than ever.

Works great. Only complaint is that it has only a 2 year warranty as opposed to the black version which is 5 year. Again, for the price you cant beat it
