works great and really quiet replaced storage drive

Perfect large format hard drive for storing drive backups.

Only use for off-line backup situations and when cloud is not available. Good value. Quiet action.

This is an old reliable hard drive. Very quiet. A lot of storage for not much money.

Needed more storage for games and media. This is one of the best bang for the buck you can find without spending a fortune.

Five stars so far. I installed it, the computer recognized it, I ignored the WD software since it is the same as I received earlier with other drives. I started copying files from my backup system and it simply behaves as it should. Two, 3, 4, 5 years from now I might post again about its durability.

The harddrive works well Just be aware that most operating system wont detect the 4tb harddrive if not partitioned correctly. Press the Windows key+X and choose Powershell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin) Here type Diskpart and press Enter. type the following Bold commands pressing Enter after Each one. (ie) DISKPART > ii) list disk (ie) DISKPART > list disk It now lists disk by number you have to select the disk next with iii) select disk <disk number> (ie) DISKPART> Select Disk (disk number) = as listed in previous command. The selected disk now has an Asterisk next to it. iv) clean (this erases all data on the Disk, so be sure you choose the correct one) (ie) DISKPART> clean v) convert gpt vi) create partition primary vii) format fs=ntfs quick now for verification of disk status and free space type v) list disk the status should be "online" and free space should be "disk size" ‘vi)exit

4TB at great price. The performance is not what I would expect from SSD but it's still capable to handle everything I need without lag.

Good size drive for my needs. Use it in an external drive case. Formatted it in exfat to move info from windows to Mac

Works well, and gives my son the extra storage he needs. a lot cheaper than trying to by an additional 4tb in ssd.

I've gone through hundreds of hard drives over the past 25 years (or more). WD has been one of those drives that was inexpensive and was in every EOM machine where cost was important. Even in business line of machines for users, the consistently failed early and spectacularly. Seagate drives would fail at a rate close to WD. Toshiba drives seemed to last the longest and perform well. Technology and quality goes through spurts and my hope that WD has stepped up it's game runs high. I have two of the same model I purchased through 2 separate vendors to see how well they perform. Proof over time. I'm hoping to see a lifespan of 5 years, but expecting 2 years. Time will tell. They are being used in a Beyond RAID unit from Drobo.

This drive has a huge storage capacity for a very reasonable price. I bought it to store old home movies I had transfered to my computer. It holds tons of video.

Easy to install. Just need an additional cable. Simple.

I wish it was solid state but it's an easy install and $84 and change is, great price for a 4 TB hard drive.
