If you want to throw it in a long time rig, by all means. It literally shorted on me on the second boot and I had to return it. Definitely not for me, I’d recommend switching to m.2’s or NVMe’s.

This brand specially this model doesn't have the best track record. Its slow but if you need plenty of storage space I say go for it. If you want a media drive I would look elsewhere this is not very fast.

Greatest purchase at the price I've found it at. I would have preferred 6TB or 8TB yet as my first 4TB I was happy this item was in stock and on sale!

Bought as a replacement for 2 older hard drives. Works well, and transfers at a normal rate for it's type.

4TB WD Blue drives are faster than I expected. over 200MB/sec transfer rate (sustained)

This is was installed by the Geek Squad, and man does it work great! I would recommend this to anyone needing a larger Hard drive!

I bought this HDD, went home to set it up, and Disk Manager wouldn't initialize the device due to "a device which does not exist was specified". After changing SATA ports, Rescanning disks, etc.. It then gave an I/O error during Disk Management initialization. AKA- The hard drive was dead on purchase. I went back and replace it, and the new one was plug in and play after the quick initialization. This would have gotten 5 stars, but for my gas and time wasted, down to 2.

I purchased this drive to replace a failing one that is not Western Digital. I am using this drive to backup valuable information on my system, so cannot say that I have had any issues with it.

Lots of memory & smooth operation. Works very well.

I use this drive in a raid and it is working just fine. As this is the blue not the red as is recommended for raids time will tell if this was a good decision.

I'm sort of brand loyal to WD over the last couple of decades. Never had a failure and this one performed as expected. One of those times when needed today and Best Buy had it available. Great for long term storage and volume backups where you do not need SSD speed.

Excellent drive to replace the HDD in my computer following a Ransomware attack. I decided to replace both Drives in the system just to be safe.

It's a solid hard drive for me. Typically lasting around four years with proper maintenance. The only reason I rate it four out of five is simply that I use hard drives for gaming. And when this drive goes bad. You better act quick.

Not the fastest drive in the world, but I'm not using it for speed.

Installed by Pasadena Geek Squad to replace poorly performing/malfunctioning hard drive on Inspiron All in One desktop. The SATA hard drive performs well, though there is hesitation in my email program Microsoft Outlook 2010 in moving between folders. Other programs have no hesitation.

My second drive for my home media server, great price when you get it on sale and good read and write speeds!

Fast enough, seems dependable so far. Wish it was as quiet as the SD drive, but can't expect that. Altogether a good purchase.
