    Took a few weeks to get windows to “see” the drive. The computer’s bios recognized it, but not the operating system. Then tried Linux with the same results. Then used gparted to reconfigure the drive to get it working. Now works well. Too much energy wasted getting it working. WD could have done better, but have seen that others have had the same problem.

    As usual for Western Digital, works great, the transfer speed is a bit low but that's probably not on the hard drive itself.

    I picked up one of these drives to replace an older WD hard drive. From the specifications listed on Bestbuy's page, as well as the recent reviews noting that these packages contain the EZRZ variant of the drives, I was confident that I was purchasing a drive which would suit my needs. Imagine my surprise to open the box and find that WD had shipped a SMR drive in it (EZAZ). Unfortunately, it's not what I need, nor is it what was advertised, so I'll be returning it. After WD's debacle with sneaking SMR into RAID drives, one would hope they would have learned, but apparently not.
