WD hard drives have always been reliable for me. This one is no exception - great performance, LOTS of room for storage and backups.

You should know "MBR can only handle four primary partitions and 2TB of HDD space. GPT has no partition limit". I use this HDD as a external HDD and use Windows Disk Management to convert 4TB HDD to Master Boot Record (MBR). I can format the first partition (2TB). No way to format second partition. I convert back to GUID Partition Table (GPT) disk and I can format NTFS for this 4TB hard drive.

Having had 2 Seagate Expansion drives die this year I decided to give WD another try. I put this drive in one of the Seagate cases so I am using it as a USB drive. Setup was easy using only software included with Windows 10. So far the drive has performed above my expectations. It is quiet. I haven't run specs on it but it seems that write speeds are much faster than what I had before. I 100% recommend.

I was looking to upgrade my internal drive. I have tons of movies and music. This fit the bill. I have no issues with it. It is very quiet.

Good size drive for my needs. Use it in an external drive case. Formatted it in exfat to move info from windows to Mac

Great for backup of files. Warranty is only 2 years but price was good. I hope for more than 2 yr with light usage planned. WD is dependable and backs up their problems with good warranty.

To be honest I'm mainly a Seagate user, however last year I had 2 hard drives crash on me. I've been hearing some really good things about WD and reliability, Since I purchased this product last November, I've been very happy with its performance. I'm currently thinking of purchasing another one. I do a lot of Photo editing as well as some Video and so far I've been very happy with the way this drive is working.

This is an excellent product and a terrific deal....an amazing four terrabytes for just around $100...can't beat it.

I was needing a pretty decently sized hard drive on a budget. This hard drive perfectly met my storage needs for a home server. I would recommend this to anyone looking for simple storage solutions for you backups.

Easy to install, huge space for back up files, game files, etc.

Got this hdd to store games on my pc to keep my memory clear. I’ve had it for a few weeks and have had no issues with data storage, speed, etc. If I’m honest, I don’t really know all the technical aspects of how storage works with secondary hard drives, especially with gaming, but I’ve had no issues and this hdd does exactly what I need it to. Especially for the price, it’s great.
