It just works
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use these hard disk drives for my NAS and other backup files, works great and I haven't had any issues with the drives in over a year now. The speeds are a bit slower than the 7200 RPM drives (these hard drives are 5400 RPM), but I don't have any issues with that in my own setup.

Much Needed Space
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I added this 4TB to my computer so the Main Drive only had to worry about the Operating System and other Programs. This drive only works for storage and back ups.

Affordable mass storage
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great as a secondary storage drive, slower than you would want as a boot drive since it's 5400rpm, but the low noise and large volume is a plus

This is indeed a hard drive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's so little that can be said about mechanical drives anymore, unless they're pushing the limits of the format's capacity, so I'll keep it simple. It hasn't failed, and it is holding data without flipping bits randomly. It isn't noisy and hasn't eaten my dog. It's not particularly fast, but for the use it gets, it doesn't need to be. All in all, a good solution to bump up storage space a bit.

Good Drive, bought 2.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did what I needed a 4GB drive to do. Quick and easy installation into server, quickly configured new shares and started pumping gigs of data onto it. Liked it so much I bought a second so I could put one into my other server, configured DFS between the two and they are replicating. Might buy more soon as it's always good to have more space than you think you need.

These drives are the best variant of the line!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.64MB cache is better than 256MB cache! Yes you read that right. Best Buy ships the WD40EZRZ variant of these drives, which is rather a rare find, given that other retailers Why is this smaller cache variant better? The cache size isn't the only difference here. the -EZRZ variant uses PMR instead of SMR writing technology found in -EZAZ variants. Without going much into the detail, SMR saves money for the HDD manufacturer, at the cost of more write activity for the reorganization of files, which simply doesn't exist with the PMR. Google is your friend if you want to learn more. Yes you heard me, this -EZRZ variant is better.

Big Hard Drive
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, it's a hard drive for a desktop computer, alright. Wanted to upgrade my 1 TB hard drive with something bigger, and I ended up getting this one. Hook it in with a SATA cable, go to your Drive Management, create a new simple volume, and, boom, new hard drive. Not much else to say. Seems to work great so far.

Really loud but decent
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my 8 year old 1tb blue with this drive. It’s louder than any other spinning drive i’ve had when spinning up but is fine once it’s settled in. A fine drive, ok for archive speeds, decent value!

Good drive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good general purpose storage hard drive. Large capacity works well if you are working with a lot of video files or other files over 1GB each. Have bought this hard drive in the past and have not had one fail yet. (5 years)

Glad to see CMR instead of SMR
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Glad that they had some CMR drives in stock. Watch out for the slightly cheaper SMR drives. These ones are slower and overall worse. If you are using these in a NAS or NVR, make sure to get CMR drives. The model number correlates to the WD datasheet.

Oustanding Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 4TB WD Blue worked fantastic in my new computer build. The price to performance is great and it's near whisper quiet during operation. My media library and games have plenty of room to grow now.
