I purchased these for a raid 1 install and they are working great. I had older 7200rpm drives and these 5400rpm drives are actually must faster and more responsive. I was getting throughputs in the 100 mb/sec range when copying data onto them.

This drive is a decent storage drive. It has SMR technology, which is slightly inferior to CMR. I am using this deive for backups, so it fits my need. It is a very good deal if you can get it for around 50$.

Nice large drive. Motherboard MUST support UEFI and you must format the drive in Windows 10 as GPT and not MBR to use full capacity and as Drive 0. Without UEFI capable motherboard you are limited to 2.1T. Also, if you use as Drive 0 and cannot use UEFI then windows cannot partition the drive into multiple drives.

Upon opening the packaging I was dismayed that all there was inside was a plastic bag. Luckily I dug deeper and found the hard drive inside that bag. So, you get a hard drive, a box, some plastic, and a free bag. The hard drive worked just fine, but the free bag just made for some extra purchase. 10 stars.

I've been using Western Digital drives for over 15 years and have never had a issue with their products. I'm currently using two of these drives for my NAS to stream my personal collection of movies and pictures through my personal network.

It may not be as fast as WD Black spindles or SSDs, but for bulk storage on my media server it is perfect - I don’t really hear it, it provides plenty of capacity and is fast enough for my purposes.

Bought to add digit films and placed it in a HD closure and worked exceptionally…

Used to back up the data on the PC primary diskdrive which is an SSD drive. Works without a fuss. I expect it to last for a long time because it is lightly for periodic back ups only

My general rule for hard drives has been if this seems like you'll never need this much space, get the next size up.

Good hard drive with lots of space. Good value for the money.

Best Hard drives I've used. And the price per GB. And best Manufacturers Warranty, which I don't believe you will need. I have used several brands over the years and I always go back to WD they just don't let me down

Was worried I'd notice the decrease in RPM compared to the drive I had but so far it's been fine and having the extra storage means I can game, archive things and record gameplay/take screenshots as much as I please without worrying.

Use it as back up for all my files on my computer. Works great and keeps on trucking

The product works as advertised. I do not like the corporation promoting politics of any type. The "pride" LGBTQ stuff displayed in the store is offensive. I may never shop there again.

Upon initial formatting, my computer only recognized this as a 2 TB drive. A few internet searches later and I got this to its full capacity. One can say that this is more space than rhey ever need. One would also be lying to themselves. I am half full already. Overall, a good drive that does what it needs to do.

I use this hard drive for basic storage. Works great for what I need. Getting windows 10 to recognize that the hard drive is there requires a little setup but nothing a google search can't fix. Not the hard drives fault. Windows fault.

Fast drive, easy install. I've used a lot of WD and Seagate drives and would buy this one again. To be fair, I don't know how anyone could properly review a product like this after using it for just a couple weeks. I suppose you could report if it failed within that amount of time, but other than that all there is to say is it's working as expected.

I'm sad to revert back to running games from HDD now that my sandisk 960 SSD is full but this drive is quick enough and silent also. 190mb/s read/write is better than my older HDD's. It only took 37 minutes to clone using the free acronis download. I would buy another one when I fill up this 4TB.
