Slow, but so far dependable. WD is a good brand.

My system hangs every now and then when I access it. Typical of any platter-based drive, but this one is quite slow. I wouldn't recommend it for games, programs. or your OS, but it's great for file storage such as pictures, movies, and documents.

More Space

Standard HDD - Use only for occasional use comp.

Use it for computers that are only going to be on while you are physically using them, or if you put them into hibernate. This HDD is not for extended use, day in day out, on all the time. If you are looking for that, use RED or BLACK versions. Good size to cost comparison. I've had a ton of HDD's over the years. Western Digital remains my favorite. I have a DROBO Pro, which houses 8 HDDs. Many HDDs have failed over the years. WD's still last the longest.

use for backups
