Decent drive at a decent price. Slower transfers due to usb, but that's what happens with external drives.

Huge storage capacity for price paid. Portable and no need for plugging into a wall outlet. I like the style and looks.

The drive was intended for backup purposes. The drive has performed quite well. I cannot give technical aspects of the backups as to throughput. Speed was not what I was looking for. The price was right and prior experience with 'My Passport' drives led to this drive.

This is my second 4TB Passport. They both work great!!! And certainly much better than the old backup hard drive that this one is replacing. There's a definite advantage to using the Passport over the larger desktop hard drives. It's much smaller, and only uses the USB cord (no separate power cord!).

Bought this for my father in law for Christmas. He wanted a portable storage for all his photos. He uses this to back up photos from his computer and only use them if the original fails. He has many of these stored on his shelf. He says they haven’t let him down yet.

Hard drive is fast and easy to use. Plug in and go and the retrieval to the computer is also very fast.

This is the third WD portable hard drive I have purchased. All are working great. The plug-and-play feature makes them versatile for moving content from my business to home. Data transfers are quick with USB 3.0. I would definitely buy this hard drive again.

This works great for my Xbox one storage and now I don't have to delete any games. I assume this would also work just fine as an external storage for your laptop or computer as well, but I am using it for my Xbox one and it works great

Connected to router as backup drive. You can download backup software from Western Digital for free. I am using the Netgear backup software since it is connected directly to the router instead of an individual PC. Lots of space for pictures, documents, etc. Can access the files over my home network.

I had reservations on making this purchase a previous WD harddrive series did not function properly with Windows 7 USB 2.0 (yes my 2011 i7 core ASUS is that old, but works great). So I took a chance on this and it backed up my data without any issues. WD has restored my confidence.

As a photographer, I have to buy new, larger hard drives every few years to keep up with the huge files these cameras are producing these days. This is my 4th WD Passport and I haven't had any trouble yet (knock on wood). I will continue to go to WD first when shopping new hard drives.

Bought this hard drive to use for transferring large files at work. No real set-up needed and it's nice that it comes with some preinstalled security software. Transfer rate is fast and I really like how it comes in different colors. Simple and affordable solution.

Not much more to say here. I've had some of WD's NAS drives and My cloud drives with all the useless software to backup your computer. when all I really needed was this. A simple plug and play USB hard drive that's sleek and portable. It does the job. No more / no less.

I purchased the portable hard drive to help free up space on my PS4’s hard drive. The 4 terabytes this provided as well as the price are what helped me decide on this particular brand and model. Set up was easy and within 30 minutes, after plugging it in, my PS4 was 370 something GB free.

I've used a number of these portable drives in the past, filling them up with RAW photos from various shoots. So, 4TB is a great size to have on hand to dump my files onto, and this unit has been working just as well as I'd expect. No errors, no problems, smooth functioning, and looks nice too.

Ever since SONY put out the 4.5 updates for the PlayStation 4, you can now use an external hard drive with the system. Therefore, I now needed an external hard drive. The WD - My Passport 4TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive connected & formatted in less than a minute. You got to love it.

Purchase with confidence, Western Digital still makes some of the most reliable consumer drives on the market. USB 3 makes data transfer and backing up super fast. Make sure you are purchasing their drives that come with a 3 year warranty. The 1 year warranty drives are not as reliable.

It's small and portable, it's 4TB, it's not too slow; there's not much more to say about a data storage device. It just works.

I've been very pleased with these drives. We purchased a number of them to use as data transfer drives. The speed is great and they have been very reliable. They do not require any external power supply which is really nice and being able to pass them around and not worry about them is great.

The drive worked as expected. Easy to install and use. Would definitely recommend as a backup system or even for primary use.
