After a few weeks of her complaining about it, I got this hard drive to make a backup and downgrade to the previous OS. This worked flawlessly to use with Time Machine to back up all her personal files and restore them after the downgrade. Now her battery performance is back to what it was before the upgrade and no files were lost in the process.

2nd drive to crash in 60 days.

This is the second WD drive to do this in 60 days. I’ve been in IT infrastructure for a long time. WD has always been a very reliable product. Sadden it’s not anymore.

I did but the problem with the iMac concerned corrupt files so I was told NOT to restore from this external drive. I used time machine again but the electrical bower failed during the back up. When I tried to resume the error message said there were two files of the same name and ‘rename one’. In attempting to do so I may have erased both. I tried installing WD file. When I tried to backup using it it failed again. Therefore Its highest and best use is as a coffee cup coaster.

A little frustrated that it won't even stay plugged into my mac. I was told if I bought this one. I wouldn't have to format it...I did. It has been a nightmare and I can't even use my computer now.
