    This hard drive was a replacement for one in my NAS that died after 8 years (also a western digital). The transition between drives and the rebuild of my raid went very smoothly. The drive is running cool.

    This was purchased to replace a failed WD drive in my NAS. Hopefully this one last longer than a year. WD is replacing the failed drive under warranty so I will have a shelf spare now.

    Western Digital Drives are the best around! They have a longer life span than other brands of the same type.
