The problem is I had outlets from over a year ago, with new switches, it took two days for the outlets and switches to get on the same page. One would work then the other wouldn't and vice versa, then one would update the firmware rendering the others unuseable. I have a total of 2 switches and 3 outlets in the house, when you launch the app, rarely do all 5 work at the same time...and that's the problem. Great technology when it works, it just doesn't always do that.
