Go ahead all the way in for!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item is an awesome convenience to your wireless networking. Installation is a flash, it does not require a rocket science nor a book of wisdom to apply to common sense. All wires are colored and marked to connect to the respective colored wires. The beauty about this product is that you can program it (really not a programming but rather setting the timeframe to turn on/off at specified time, of course if you wish to call it programming, which contradicts my perception about the programming idea, which involves more complex set of setups and properties) to turn on/off at specified timeframe. The switch can be installed in the mix of other switches just as it shown in the pictures I uploaded, or you can install it individually if an individually available socket is feasible. Hahaha. Do to it as you wish, as it looks good to your eyes. It's all good. It cost me $14, but if you're going to pay $55 for it and then bungle it up, it might be a painstaking mess. Do your best, but do not substitute it with your worst! 7ou can't go wrong with it. This item goes along with you. It does not go against you.. Hehehehe

Excellent WiFi Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Last Christmas I bought my very first Amazon Echo Dot and Wemo Smart Plug to check out what the Smart-Home hype was all about. Fast forward to this Christmas and I have outfitted my house with two Wemo Smart Plugs, five Wemo Smart Switches and about as many Echo devices. While the Wemo Smart Switch is not the cheapest (you can find deals during sales – Thank you Best Buy), they look good, are reliable and work marvelously with Alexa. The Wemo App is very easy to use and makes setting up a new switch painless. In short, it’s a great device that I wholeheartedly recommend, I just wish that Belkin made a version that did not require a common wire so that I can put a Wemo Switch everywhere in my home.

Not perfect yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 of these WeMo Light Switches and installed them at the same time. One of them has been working great. It took 2 tries to get the firmware to update but its been great since then. The other one has disconnected from the internet and refused to reconnect multiple times a week in the month since I bought them. The only way to fix this so far is to factory reset it and then completely set it up again. I'm starting to get really good at it :p but I need to contact support and figure out if it is defective and how to get a new one.

Works with Echo Voice Commands and IFTTT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this switch to be able to program it to turn on and off at certain times. Installation was extremely simple but make sure you turn off the power before installation. Also, one important note is this switch only works in houses that have a neutral wire and will not work with dual light switches. Okay Bonus I recently got an Amazon Echo and by voice commands I can now come into the room and say "Alexa turn on the light". This is great because I'm almost always carrying something in and can't turn the light on until I set everything down. I have a video demo of me using the two together here https://youtu.be/FylkR7onU7A

Love these. Can't stop buying them.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have already purchased 3 of these and they look great. 1 controls my Carriage lights with a simple schedule. I have another one connected to my fan and with IFTTT integration, I also have my Nest Thermostat turning my fan on when a certain temperature happens. I have one more on my beside lights. Further more, with IFTTT integration, I have this setup with my Nest Protect so that if smoke, fire or carbon monoxide is detected, it turns on all of my WeMo switches. This light switch can also be enabled to turn on other WeMo wall outlet switches through IFTTT. Awesome!

easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife kept on leavin the lights on in the house for the day when no one was home. I purchased a few of the WeMo wall switches and all my problems are now solved. When your using the WeMo App. on your phone it will show you if a light is on or off. You can also set up custom timers to make the lights go on or off. I have all the light going off at a certain time in the house just incase my wife forgets again. I have the two porch lights set up to go on at sunset and off 1.5 hours before sunrise.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 5 light switches several months ago and the only problem I've had is one switch lost my wi-fi so I called customer support and they walked me through a reset in about 3 or 4 minutes. Didn't have to wait but a few minutes on the phone for a live person either. Easy to install too. I will probably be buying more Wemo products in the future.

Great switch for light automation without hub
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wemo switch is easy to install, setup, and use as intended. To help automate your home. I now have 6 Wemo switches and the best part is there is no need for a hub. I would highly recommend this over any other brand.

Q: QuestionI can't decide: Go with Z-wave, Zigbee, WeMo or "Smart things"--How to decide? It would be great if a pro in the home automation Biz without affiliation with these players would give us all Pros and Cons of all these competing network systems so we don't end up with wifi controllers for every different light and appliance in the house.
Asked by Hal.
- A:Answer I currently have over 50 individual connected devices throughout my home. I have a mix of Philips Hue, Wemo and Smart Things all voice controlled by one of 3 Amazon echos strategically located throughout the house (adding 4 more to get perfect voice control from anywhere in house). Zigbee and Z-wave are simply types of wireless. WeMo and Smart Things are actually product categories produced by a specific manufacturer. Before making any decisions I can say with certainty that you need to first decide what items you want to automate or control and how you want to interface with each of these items. We voice can voice control or toggle on or off any fan or light with a combination of Wemo, Philips Hue and Amazon Echo. The color of light through our house is controlled by scenes set in the Hue app and set to change automatically at certain times of the day or night. We turn off or on and dim individual lights or groups of lights by voice using Hue and Echo. We open or close the gate to our property with voice command using Wemo Maker and Amazon Echo. We control temp in home via voice using Amazon Echo, SmartThings bridge, Honeywell thermostat and SmartTiles client.

Q: QuestionWhat if I want to use it on a dual light switch plate? My porch light and hall light are on the same panel, two switches. Could I still use this? Thank you.
Asked by coldsooner.
- A:Answer If they are on the same plate but 2 separate switches yes. In my case my Wemo is in a 4 switch plate, but I had 4 older style toggle switches. From what I found I had two options, order a special plat that accepts 1 wemo style and 3 older, or do what I did and change out the other 3 switches to the Wemo style. I paid about 10 bucks for the 3 switches and a nice pewter cover and installed it all myself. You need to have a neutral wire, I think they called it, for the Wemo to work. And the Wemo box is big so tucking it all in can be fun. Look up the directions for the Wemo switch and make sure your home has the wire, but as for plates yes it can go into a multi switch plate but your existing switches may be a different style. Hopefully one of the two options I suggested works. Been a few months with the Wemo now and not 1 hiccup. Only think I did was adjust the on/off times for daylight savings but it has worked flawlessly. I have included a pic of the "4 gang wall plate" you'd use with older, in your case a 2 gang wall plate and a pic of my finished install.

Q: QuestionWhat happens when the switch loses power for a period of time? Is there battery backup? Or do I have to re-program after power loss. Seems pointless as a security device if the programming is lost......
Asked by AlmostCommitted.
- A:Answer Power surges are a weekly thing where I live. I'm now the fastest microwave clock reseter in the world!!! As for the Wemo light switches I installed 4 switches 5 months ago and have literally not touched them after programming on/off and dusk/dawn. We've lost power many time briefly without any issues with my programming. Have not had the situation with a long power outage but from what I've heard it will not effect your programming either!! Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionWill this work as one of a two way switch? Like if I put this at the bottom of the stairs and there's also another switch at the top of the stairs will this wifi switch work?
Asked by 2Way.
- A:Answer It's not designed to work as a two way switch.

Q: QuestionCan Wemo control 4 lights with one switch. Porch light and 3 coach lights on the garage. Currently I have one switch that controls all 4 lights. We installed the Wemo and the lights did not come on.
Asked by RGThib.
- A:Answer Hi. Yes, it should work as long as the lights does not exceed the 1800W power limit of the Wemo Light Switch. Get in touch with us at WemoCares@belkin.com so that we can assist you further with this. Don't forget to include the link to this post as a reference.

Q: QuestionDoes the WeMo light switch care if it is connected to a couple of evil CFL bulbs? I bought a smart switch a few years ago and the CFL bulbs ate it.
Asked by Elmer.
- A:Answer Might be the bulb - I went to LED bulbs and they work great. LED are pricey but will last years. The electric use has gone down as I took control of the times it goes on/off. I set a drop dead time for the light to go off in the event I forget to shut them off.

Q: QuestionWill it work with Amazon echo
Asked by Raptor.
- A:Answer Yes. It will work with Amazon Echo directly out of the box. No hub is needed. That is how I am currently using mine.

Q: QuestionIf you have a light switch programmed and manually turn it on does the switch revert back to the program?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Your programming will continue to function as expected. So if for example you turn on the light before it's scheduled to come on, it will by pass that scheduled time and remain on. If a follow up "off" time is scheduled. The light will turn off as expected.
