Ok product with a big design flaw

There are a couple flaws that buyers need to consider. First, to control the lights you have to use the Wemo app. I preferred to use Wink. Second, The button to reset the switch is at the bottom edge of the toggle switch and we accidentally reset each switch a number of times. This is a ridiculously bad design and it is not reasonable to have to wait for your light switch to reboot.

Doesn't connect to wi-fi

Did not last

Stopped connecting to network.

Followed the instructions to reset to factory and the switch will connect to my phone for a second and then disconnect right away. Killed the power and tried again with the same result. Not even 2 years and it no longer works.

Good Switch, App has Problems

It should not require a daily reset to keep it detected by the app. Are the switch's firmware and app updated? Let us start to isolate this challenge by using another phone if there's any. Instead of resetting the switch, you can try rebooting it. Home Automation here we come.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the wall memo switches along with the light switch memo switch. These are all around "great". I installed my Wemo switch in my master bathroom. I have my alarm set to go off Monday thru Friday. Through my Wemo light switch I set up a rule to turn on my master bathroom light a few minutes after my alarm goes off. I have it set to turn off shortly after I leave for work everyday. Through the Wemo outlet switches I have in my house they are set up to various lamps in my house. Again, all scheduled to come on at certain time in the morning while I'm getting ready for work. The advantage to all of this, I wake up, all these lights turn on on their own, and when I leave, shortly after they all turn off. I have the same thing set up in the evening, for certain lamps to come on when it's getting dark and then they turn off at a designated time. Bottom line is, it's just cool. I can use my iPhone, iPad, etc, to turn lights on and off from anywhere that I have internet access. Whether it's LTE or 3G or Wifi access, as long as I have access, I can control the lights in my house. The only down fall is this. When I first start the Wemo app, sometimes it doesn't recognize all of the devices. Some Wemo devices might pop up instantly, other's won't show at all. I've learned, on average, to turn the Wemo app on and just wait patiently. Within a minute, everything ( on average) will show up. If it doesn't, I force close the app and restart it and then wait the minute I just described. All of this can be a pain in the butt if your standing there waiting for the Wemo app to show your devices so you can turn your lights on. This, for me, is the only downfall to this device. With the light switch, you obviously have full control like a normal light switch. You just push the bottom of the switch and it gently rocks in and turns the light on/off. I suppose it's worth mentioning, my Wemo light switch, when you manually push the rocker switch squeaks a little like plastic rubbing on plastic. It's not a huge bother, it makes me concerned that it might be a little cheap, but I haven't had any issues. Install wasn't difficult for me. I'm comfortable with all sorts of home projects and computing projects, so this was a piece of cake for me. Green wire goes to Copper ground, the 2 black wires go to the 2 black wires running to your current switch and the all important white wire that goes to the Neutral (white) wire inside the light switch box. This isn't for everyone. I'm a "techy" kinda guy, so I love it. Some people it would probably not make sense to them or they would have difficulty with it (older folks that aren't into technology). But I've thought long and hard about how and where to implement all these switches in my house and have done so to the best of my ability. I would definitely recommend these switches to anyone who loves technology and home automation.

The worst home automation device that I've bought

Every couple of days the switches go offline and I have to reset the breaker on my panel to reset them. Almost everyone encounters these issues. If you send error codes to belkin, they won't even bother to reply. Don't buy. If you do, return them within the return terms.

Disappointed

Signal interference is the usual cause of intermittent connections to most wireless devices. You can try to place the device closer to your wireless router to reduce interference. Also, make sure that its firmware is up to date.

Mine is being removed today and destroyed with a hammer. After three weeks (3 weeks!) of attempts with different strategies, the WiFi connection with my router simply cannot be recovered after a whole home power failure.

It stoped working

But as of the last two months it disconnected form my wifi and i am unable to reconnect it. Tried a factory reset and still unable to get it connected to my wifi!
