I purchased this to control the lights over my bed. I am lazy and don't want to get up and walk 3 feet to the light switch. This was a perfect solution. I can turn my lights on and off with either my Amazon Echo or the Wemo app. Both work great. The installation was simple and the apps functioned with it immediately. This doesn't require any sort of hub--it connects directly to your wifi. Nice product. My next project is to use IFTTT (which the product supports) and create a single command that turns off the light and starts playing Barry White through my Echo.

This is the third of my Wemo Switches. Once you get past the hiccups of the relatively lousy android app and the disconnections that I experienced the first time around, a few months ago, it is seamless. I picked this one to integrate a light fixture with my other network devices that are connected to Amazon's echo. It worked in the first go and was integrated with no problems. I did not consider other devices because many require expensive hubs to be purchased separately. Not the case with Wemos.

No longer do I have to worry about our outside lights staying on for days at a time with this great wifi light switch. Using IFTTT I've created rules that turn the lights off at 2am if they are on and I can have the front light turn on when I pull in the driveway! I utilize Philip Hue's in the house but why risk an expensive bulb being outdoors when you can swap out a regular light switch for one of these? Requires minimal electrical know how but DOES require a neutral :-)

I bought 2 for my outside lights for I grew tired of coming home to a dark house. Setup was simple, and it works as it should. I will definitely be getting some more. NOTE: Bestbuy matches prices.

the switches are great, i installed 6 of them in the house and they work great. installation is a breeze and you can control you lights from anywhere in the house or away from the house.

I was VERY excited to receive this product. I have a dog who stays home during the day while I work so I thought this could be a handy solution to turn the lights on for him once the sun goes down. I liked that compared to other solutions I'd seen this didn't require a subscription cost which is a huge plus because even if those require a low subscription cost at first I never like to feel like I'm at the mercy of future rate increases.

I picked up the Wemo Light Switch because I wanted my outside light to come on at sunset and go off at sunrise to save energy. After I brought it home, I killed the power to the circuit, unwired the old switch, wired up the Wemo switch(including the neutral and ground wires), connected my iPhone 4S to the Wemo wifi network, then the app took over and proceeded to connect to my main wifi network. After that, it did a firmware update and came back online in less than 10 minutes. The only trouble I encountered post-installation was that the app lost sync with the switch after it did the firmware update and I had to kill and restart the app on my iPhone to be able to see it again. Great product, would definitely recommend!

It was very easy to install and setup. I had a problem, it was not following rules. I had to delete the rules, do the installation steps again but did not work. One of the forums suggested using android for setup and that worked (dont know why ios had an issue).

Router : Netgear WNDRMACv2 OS: Android v4.1.2 Phone: LG Optimus I purchased this product to control the front porch light. I was not sure what to expect given the diverse comments and installation reviews but thought I would give it a try. I did not check a head of time to make sure I had a neutral wire (turns out I do) but for those considering this product, make sure you do along with a deep enough light switch receptacle to fit the device. According to the National Electrical Code, homes built after 2011 should have a neutral wire. Based on that information and comments on other forums, I checked the cables tucked away in the back of the receptacle and saw the neutral wires capped together. Device setup was very easy. The app walks you through the process.

Unit works as advertised. Controls one light or set of lights. The unit has been quite dependable and we were pleasantly surprised just how good it has performed. We use it for 6 each 35 watt outdoor lights (below the max wattage) and since install we haven't had to mess with the outdoor lights! The bad? The software reminds me of windows. Clunky but it works. Understanding how to use it will take allot of time. I'm fairly adept at gadgets and this one took some effort to make it work!!! I only have my cell phone connected to it and i'm not sure how I would control it without the phone - (i don't think it will work).... I would give it a perfect rating if the software would have been easier to use. Maybe the belkin people will iron out the interface and we can upgrade the stars. Cheers, William.

This WEMO switch works as intended, however looses one star for not being HomeKit compliant, (meaning you can't use Siri to control it through your iOS device), and looses another star because you can't control multiple switches with IFTTT, (If This Than That), either.

WeMo light switch installed quickly and easily, and hooking it up to my home network was simple with the very basic instructions included. Product has worked exactly as expected since installing it. Three things to be aware of: (1) requires a neutral wire in the electric box, which not all homes have, (2) the switch takes up a fair amount of room in the electric box -- could be a bit of a challenge (I haven't tried) to fit more than one of these switches in a double or triple box, and (3) the switch can be purchased at a substantial discount when it's on sale, which is fairly often and worth waiting for in my opinion.

Easy to set up as long as you are comfortable changing a normal, common wall switch. While setting up the app, I got one message that the WiFi signal was weak, but also got a notification for a firmware update. Once that updated, the Wifi message went away and I was up and running. I love the sunrise timer option. The swtich looks nice, but It would be nice if the switch flipped on / off like a normal switch instead of toggling. I highly recommend the switch!

These things are easy to set up and work just as promised, Particularly well with Amazon Alexa which is what I wanted.

Very easy to install and easy to use. Love that my google home and connect to and control it with ease.

This a great product, and the integration with other internet based appliances has become integral. With both hands full, we can tell Amazon Echo to turn on our lights in the dark.

I just purchased two WEMO switches. I have two light switches in my house, one that controls my front porch light and one that controls my garage lights. I replaced them with the WEMO stitches (very easy) and programmed them to come on when it gets dark and off by about 11pm - love it! Will make me feel safer when I am out of town in that my house will still look like someone is home.

Bought to test with Amazon Echo. Installed in minutes. Found syncing app in itunes, but not android store.

Works great, easy to install if you know how to handle replacing a switch or an outlet. Which isn't to hard if you look it up on youtube or search it on Google. The instructions that come with it are also very helpful. Just be sure to shut of the power going to the switch and then test to make sure it is truly off.
