Customers are saying
Customers admire the 3.5 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Top-Loading Washer's cleaning performance, ease of use, and value for the price. Many appreciate its large capacity and the inclusion of an agitator. However, some customers find the washer noisy, particularly during the spin cycle, and have expressed concerns about the lid lock mechanism. A few also mentioned that the washer's interior is smaller than expected.

Great at sale price. BB delivery charge not good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a 4 year old Maytag, the transmission went and would have cost almost as much as this washer cost at its sale price of $379 to repair it. Not wanting to go with Maytag ever again (too bad, they were once the best) we did lots of research. My wife wanted a top load and not a high efficiency. Our old washer (high efficiency) never put enough water in it. We like that this one lets you select the settings and fills and washes with the right amount of water per load size. The locking lid is no issue at all. If you want to open it, press the button. We find its not loud at all, it's in our basement, can't hear it at all upstairs and is at a fine noise level when in the basement. We've had if for about a month and my wife usually washes at least a load a day...loves it so far, no issues and would reccomend. Only negative is for Best Buy. This washer was below their $399 free delivery price, and the sales person couldn't add $20 on so we could get free delivery, so BB charged us $60 for delivery. Was not happy with that at all...but we needed a washer. BB, please note! We have purchased 2 complete sets of all our home appliances from you! This delivery charge is ridiculous.

Easy to Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washer for my 90 year old mother who still lives alone. She's not exactly technology savvy so I needed something reliable and simple to use to replace her 15 year old Whirlpool that finally quit on her. 30 seconds of instructions and she was good to go. Great washer for an incredible price. And with my Elite Plus Reward Zone membership it was delivered, installed, and the old one hauled away all for free!!!

Quality Washer for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only had a short time now but have done about 30 loads so far. Works great. I haven't been able to actually pause it and unlock the lid (only tried twice - really, how often do you need to re-open the lid), had to stop it and restart that cycle again. Easily done and LED lights tell you which cycle it was on (pay attention before you cancel cycle). Kinda noisy. It's acceptable during awake hrs. but do not run while going to bed if you sleep within 20 feet. Unfortunately my bedroom sits directly above the laundry area. Overall a good machine for the $$$$$$$.

Bought matching washer and dryer.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my washer and dryer with a similar size pair. The washer is too loud! It makes a sound like sawing wood or noisy bed springs. It goes fast at times, then slows down. Rinses are quiet. I live in a mobile home.It is small. The noise is too loud for the same floor living. I noticed it said on the lid, "this washer may make sounds you never heard before" They got that right! The dryer hose was left in the unit. I didn't know it was there until I bought another one. I started the dryer and there it was thumping away! Delivery should have given me the hose along with the dryer kit I purchased.I had to replace washer with another brand. Hope I have better luck this time!

A bit noisy, but cleans the heck out of clothes!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went from a high end LG high efficiency washer to this regular top loading Whirlpool. It cleans better than the LG! Its a amazing machine if you don't mind the noise and want a good value! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Great Appliance, With Just The Right Features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this washer to replace a Fisher & Paykel unit that was 5 years old and needed a very costly repair (the PC Control Board was not cycling the diverter valve, so we were both draining water, and washing/rinsing clothes in semi-dirty water at the same time). Nice and quiet, which is important to me as my 'home office' (just a filing cabinet, computer table, chair, computer and phone, in reality) is in our unfinished basement. Washer sits about 10 feet from my computer table, and is not disruptive when it's running. Has minor sound as the agitator is moving back and forth (this was a rediscovered sound, as the Fisher & Paykel didn't operate the same way) While this doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a more advanced unit, it has the standard features we all grew up with, it does them all well, and was 1/2 to 1/4 the price of a washer with 'modern' feature set. On paper, this unit 2 to 3 times more expensive to run as the Fisher & Paykel unit, but we'll check the electric bills and see. So far I have no complaints and expect it to last a good long while. When/if repair is needed in the distant future, I'm sure that parts will be easier to source for this model. NOTE: Fisher & Paykel was purchased because at the time they were manufactured here in Ohio, were easy to self-service, and were an acceptable cost. Since then Ohio plant has closed (Fisher & Paykel is a New Zealand company I believe), and parts are harder / costlier to come by.

Great Washer for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quality washing machine for the price and does the job without issue. This is a perfect washing machine if you're looking for something simple and that isn't too pricey. Not too large and looks good for a simple top loading washing machine.

Loud
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool washer. The old unit did a good job with a family of 4. It finally gave out and we were ready to replace it with another Whirlpool. This unit is so much louder then the old one - the agitator makes a low grinding noise which is normal I guess, and the spin cycle is louder as well. I checked that the machine is level. The price was right and it gets good reviews so I was expecting to be satisfied now I am debating returning it.

Love it! Better than high efficiency machines!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was trying to decide between this washer and a $1200 high efficiency washer. Needed a washer desperately because my Craigslist one was breaking too often. A close friend complained that his high eff. never quite got the clothes completely clean (gym clothes often had residual smells after being "washed"). With a toddler, infant, and a spouse who works out/does a lot of manual labor this machine has proved itself time and time again. Averaging 2-3 loads every 3 days for about 8 months, this machine still runs like it did the day we got it and the clothes come out clean and fresh smelling. Very happy with this purchase!

Great buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time with this brand and was surprised how easy it was to operate. I didn't have any problems with it and it was a lot quieter than my old one.

Loads take longer..drain/spin do not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As previously mentioned by other consumers, each load takes considerable more time than any older washer, does not matter if it is 1 rinse cycle or 2 rinse cycle still takes more time than any previous washer. Regardless of the size of each load, the clothes are ALWAYS more wet when compared to previous older washer we owned. Meaning the Drain and Spin works poorly. If you try to only use the Drain and Spin button (function) and hit 'Start' as explained in the manual, then the washer will start filling up with water, which makes no sense as the idea is to drain and spin not to make it more wet!...This machine replaces a 10 years old Maytag (when Maytag used to be good and not owned by Whirlpool). We also had a Samnsung HE in our previous home that we sold and did not wanted HE again, and by far this Whirlpool have the poorest performance.

Awesome Washer for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer is definitely worth the price. I recently moved into an apartment complex and was in need of a washer. The shipping and the movers were on time and installation was flawless. The washer is awesome and very easy to use. Bottom line it gets the job done.

Dryer OK, Service Not
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unit is fine. Service is not. Dryer was delivered on Thursday from Kokomo, Indiana store. I didn't want to pay $80 to have them install it so I bought a cord and vent elsewhere to install myself. When I installed on Friday I noticed that the deliveryman had knifed the bottom on three sides when he opened the box. Best Buy said to install anyway and they'd replace it after I went in to schedule. Went today to schedule the replacement and they will only uninstall the old unit and drop off the new unit. They won't install it because they expect me to pay $61 for the plug and vent kit (and return new stuff that I bought). Nothing offered for the hassle and inconvenience. Needless to say, I'll be going elsewhere for our next big purchase.

Good product and great price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dryer is humming right along but controls on dryer seem a lot harder to turn than on washer. Washer isn't spinning right so daughter did load of clothes and all wet. Waited 2 weeks for delivery - delivery guys great and on time!!! Very careful taking out old and bringing in new! Called the Geek squad cause paid for extended warranty and I can't get another washer for days now! UGH! Maybe its time to ask for a Best Buy gift card! Compared to Lowe's, Sears, Home Depot - this deal at Best Buy is the best for the same models! Plus Geek Squad warranty much cheaper than any other where and free delivery and take away old ones - can't beat that! (Just want my washer!) Hard w/ teenagers and no w/d!
